SOURCE: My remote was droped and

Hi,

Your best bet with this new universal remote is to use the automatic search function. This will scan all remote codes in its library to find one that works with your TV. As you have not provided details of the remote manufacturer and model number, you will need to check the universal remotes manual to find out exactly how to put it into automatic search mode. Essentially your TV needs to be in standby mode whilst the remote scans through its library. As soon as the TV resumes from standby you have found your code.

Be aware that there is a variation in each universal remote and its capabilities in terms of the codes that are stored in that particular models library. All universal remotes are not the same in this respect and the multifunction capability is entirely dependant on the library codes that are stored in that particular remote so if the auto search function does not work the remote may not be compatible with your TV.

Thanks for using FixYa.

SOURCE: Hi I have an Electroview

THIS IS YOUR CODE 167

Please Note: Many different versions of the Tek Partner and Big Button remotes have been manufactured over the past 10 years. The codes above are for the most recent version. Many of them apply to older versions of the remotes, however a few codes do change for specific devices on each of the remotes from version to version. If you've tried all the codes above for your remote and device and none seemed to work, you can follow the instructions below to do a Power Scan, which cycles through all the codes until you find one that works for your remote and device.
USING POWER SCAN (SEARCHING)
At-A-Glance : MODE (3 sec) -> POWER -> (Blue ARROW UP up_arrow.jpg or Blue ARROW DOWN down_arrow.jpg ) -> ENTER
If you cannot identify a correct Device Code for your equipment from the Device Code List, you may try the POWER SCAN method.

  • Manually turn on the device you wish to scan for (e.g. TV)
  • Perform Power Scan by pressing and holding (approximately 3 seconds)the desired DEVICE MODE button TV, VCR, CBL, DVD or SAT until the status indicator light begins to blink.
  • Press and release the PWR (power) button. The status indicator light will stop blinking and stay ON at this point.
  • Press and release slowly and patiently the blue UP ( ? ) button to scan forward through the code database. To scan backward through the code database, press and release the blue DOWN ( ? ) button. Each time you press the up or down arrow, the remote will try and turn off the device (TV, VCR etc) you originally selected.
  • When the device (TV,VCR etc.) responds by shutting off, press the ENTER button. This will store the code
  • in memory and you will see three blinks of the status indicator light to confirm the code input. Be patient, there are over 100 codes to search through.

SOURCE: Hi, I noticed you answered

hi,
You didn't mensioned any where the brand and model number of the universal remote you have. Any why if your tv is not listed on the code list then there is one more way to find is that universal remote contain the code for your tv (ie code serch). Bellow i have adde the procedure for some of the universal remote. If you have another one then pls inform me.

If the remote is RCA:

1. Manually turn on the device you'll be using with the RCA universal remote.

2. Point the remote at the device.

3. Hold down the "Code Search" button found on the RCA remote. Hold down this button for about five seconds before moving on to the next step. Do not release the button yet.

4. Press the device button on the RCA remote for the electronic device that you turned on in Step 1

5. Let go of the "Code Search" button.

6. Start pressing the "Off/On" button located on the RCA remote. Press this button about once per second until the electronic device turns off. You may need to press that button 100 times before the device turns off.

7. Press "Enter" on the RCA remote after the device has turned off. Then, press "Off/On" again. If the device turns back on, the remote was programmed properly. You will need to restart the programming process if the device doesn't turn on.

IF Philips remote:

1. Press the "On" or "Power" button on the device you want to control with the Philips universal remote (such as the television set or cable box). The device must be on to use the code search function.

2. Hold down the "Code Search" button on your Philips universal remote. The red light on the remote will turn on. Continue holding the button for about ten seconds until the light stays on.

3. Press the button at the top of the Philips universal remote for the device from Step 1.

4. Start pressing the "Channel Up" button on the Philips universal remote until the device you turned on responds to the remote by changing the channel. Each time you push the button, the remote tests another code. You might have to press the button hundreds of times before the device responds.

5. Press "Mute" on the Philips universal remote to save the code on your remote.
IF Zenith remote: 1. Turn on the device you want to program, such as your TV or DVD player. 2. Look up the device codes for the device you want to control (see Resources section).

3. Press and hold the "Code Search" button on your Zenith remote until the indicator lights at the top of the remote turn on. The Code Search button is located on the upper-left side of the remote.

4. Press and release the device key, such as the "TV" key or the "DVD" key. These are located at the top of the Zenith remote.

5. Enter the three-digit device code. The indicator light turns off after you've entered the correct code.

6. Press the "Power" button in the upper-right corner of the remote. The device you are trying to control turns off.

Hi i have an electroview tv and the remote stopped working. Purchased 2 universal remotes and neither did a autoscan tha worked and neither have electroview in their setup. Help please?

If you wish to buy its original remote control, contact the authorized service centre, or authorized dealer to your device brand. They can either give you a genuine remote control to your device, or can direct you, from where can you purchase a suitable one.
To select a proper universal remote control, you should know about the number of digits to its set-up codes. There are 3 digit, 4 digit, 5 digit, 2 digit and even single digit codes, to some brand devices. After confirming this, check the sites linked here. Both the sites have set-up code list and set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. Check which brand remote control has set-up code/s to your device brand, and buy that one according to availability. Brand name of the remote control isn't a matter, but it should have set-up codes in its code list, to the device brand you have.
Please note: Every new universal remote control will have set-up code list, and set-up procedure along with its pack. Never accept a remote control, that hasn't both of this. For more details about the set-up codes, visit the sites.

I dropped the remote and it has stoped working the batteries are intact. what can i do

If the remote can be opened (nothing to lose) look for tiny led's at sending end-----they have two pins soldered thru the board you will find inside---if broken loose they can be soldered back.

If circuit board there is cracked it is time for a new remote---some remotes have two of the led's but most only one.
