Usually the compressor is held on rubber shock mounts, sometimes screwed sometimes just on bent over steel cutouts and washers. Rubber mounts can be obtained from many hardware stores, they look like over sized grommets. Be careful when moving compressor not to fracture the copper/ aluminum tubes.
Good luck

If you touch the laptop while it is running & you find it too hot, make sure that the fan is running properly & that the air ways are not blocked.
You can blow compressed air into the cooling vents of the fan. If you notice clouds of dust coming out, then it might be a good idea to disassemble the laptop, clean the fan & air ways, & reassemble it back. If the fan has failed & is no longer running, it might need to be replaced.

Unit runs for about 5 min the cuts off. whats the problem?

Hi!!
It could be many things, the most common are Low R22 refrigerant, bad fan motor, bad compressor. obstructed condenser coil, bad starting relay, bad capacitor. among other things.
To check fan motor, set unit to HI Fan Only setting and let it run for a while, check that fan did not loose speed and it is not getting too hot.
If fan is OK, then turn unit to HI Cool 60-65 degrees and see what happens. Hear if compressor kicked in or if just made a humming noise and stopped. if this happens, replace capacitor.

My kenmore bottom freezer has a rattling noise which stops when youopen the freezer. compressor was replaced in october of 09. coils are clean and no loose parts can be seen when back panel is removed.

Check the Fan, and the fan shroud(to make sure they're tight).
There isn,t any other moving part in those freezers.

Could be the fan motor itself making noise, or a broken fan blade, or loose mounting screws...

My GE tfx27f is working fine but when the

the thump ing sound is probably the rubber mounts under the compressor . they go hard and do not insulate the compressor . . pry the comp up on all four mounts and make sure they are loose and not stuck down if ther are hard and not bouncy .. replace them . if compressor has borken internal motor mounts / there is nothing you can do . but put up with noise ..

High pitched noise

Then you will need to stop the fan and see if the noise is still there. If yes then its in the compressor. If it goes away then replace the fan

Whirlpool Fridge Making a rattling noise

There are 2 areas it could be in....The upper area where the evaporator fan is....or the lower area where the condenser fan is..
If it is in the freezer...when you open the door there should be a button that the door connects with that you can hold in manually to make the fan engage..and listen for the noise..the odds are if it were ice build up....your thumping the fridge would not make it stop ..since the thumping would not remove the Ice...it would continue to build up and the fan would eventually stop completely and everything would warm up. It could be a loose stap that holds evaporator lines in place or a motor mount that is loose ..

Or it could have to do with the condenser fan..where the compressor is.The compressor and condenser coil are located underneath the freezer section of your refrigerator. There is some tubing connecting the compressor to the condenser coil. There is also a condenser fan to cool the condenser. To access these parts the refrigerator has to be pulled away from the wall. If you pull the refrigerator out go slowly and watch the tubing that connects from the water valve on the back of the refrigerator to the water cut off at the wall.
Remove the power from the refrigerator. Remove the lower panel on the rear of the refrigerator. Look inside for anything loose. Locate the condenser fan motor and blade. These are the areas to stay away from when power is applied. Plug the refrigerator back in being careful to avoid the condenser fan motor and blade. Wear gloves to prevent burning yourself on the hot refrigerant lines and try touching tubing and lightly pushing and pulling to see if you can cause or stop the noise.
Generally a rattle or hum is caused by a refrigerant line touching part of the cabinet or base pan. If it is not repaired it may rub a hole in the refrigerant line causing the refrigerant to leak out. If you don't feel comfortable trying to correct it, you should schedule service and let a technician repair the refrigerator.

I hope this helps...please rate me ...thanks The Fang

Kenmore top freezer fridge does not cool but freezer works

Turned refrigerator off for 8 hours, let the frost melt and the fan in the freezer worked again. The compressor now only has a soft clunk when it goes off.

Motor noise

You can remove the lower back cover panel and visually see the compressor and fan. Check the mounting bolts on the compressor to see if they are loose allowing the compressor to bounce around in there. You can also "stall" the fan with a wash cloth to stop the blade from turning (it's OK just try not to bend the blades). That will eliminate the fan squeaking as it coasts down to a stop. Better to stuff a wash cloth in while the fan isn't running. Turn the t-stat up to colder to force a run condition for a minute or two then turn the t-stat down and watch the compressor and listen for those sounds again.
