My motorola droid IHDP56KC1 front screen will not work and is calling people on its own, is this a malware issue or hardware?

The directional keypad works, and the front screen works sometimes. I deleted the apps of the phone and turned it off, when I turned it back on, the apps were still on, the apps open by themselves too

Could be just moisture on the screen or a non Motorola Charger being plugged in. It could be a damaged screen or malware as well but is more likely one of the first two items.

SOURCE: Cell phone keypad will not work

you will need to take this to a professional but the problem is either a disconnected cable or somehow the firmware for the keypad got damaged and needs to be put back on the phone.

SOURCE: can only receive calls and turn the phone on and off! cannot dial out, access my contacts, ect., keypad not working at all.

If you are comfortable taking part of the phone apart there is something you can try. Remove the two Torx screws right below the battery. Gently pull the plastic cover loose. There will be a cable that connects this portion of the phone to the keypad/LCD/etc. Clean the connector on this cable and the connector it was plugged into with 99.5% Isopropyl alcohol. Reseat the cable and the part of the phone you removed and replace the screws you removed. If this does not work the keypad flex on the phone is probably damaged and will need to be looked at by a repair center.

SOURCE: Display Screen Not Working

I suspect the ribbon wire is the problem. It is the wire that connects the display to the main board where the keypad is. That explains why it would not display. Take your phone to an authorized technician and have its ribbon wire replaced. I hope this helps... ^_^

It could be that your phone has suffered a fatal memory error. You can try a reset however it may not resolve the issue.

My motorola droid IHDP56KC1 front screen will not work and is calling people on its own, is this a malware issue or hardware?

I suggest to reset your device to its factory defaults, for you to check what is really happening.
How-To: Hard Reset your Motorola Droid To perform a hard reset on your Motorola Droid, perform the following steps.

  1. Turn off the Droid. If you are unable to turn off the Droid, remove the battery for 10 seconds, then replace it.
  2. Open the physical keyboard and press the X key while pressing and holding the Power Button. The device will turn on, keep holding these two buttons until a yellow triangle appears.
  3. Press the Volume Up and then the Camera button at the same time to get a menu to come up. You may have to press them more then once.
  4. You have now entered Recovery Mode.
  5. Use the Directional Pad on the Physical Keyboard to select theFormat option.

This should perform a factory reset of your device. You will of course lose all data. Please exercise caution before doing this without a backup.

* Note: Contacts, etc. should be backed up to the cloud, so you should be safe with your address book.

MOTOROLA DROID SCREEN IS BLACK BUT IT IS ON

Hi, no need to get a new phone, It can be fixed.

There is a common fault for all MOTOROLA DROID cell phones. there is a thread like object inside the phone called a flex that controls the functions on the keys on a cell phone when it's gets damaged, it makes the keys to malfunction .That's what makes the screen to go black.

. You will need to replace the thread like object which is the flex inside the phone for the keys to function again.

The flex of the phone is located inside the phone, it controls the functions of the screen an also the keypads of the phone.

The flex is a thread like object that is located inside the phone. To see the flex, you will need to disassemble the phone to get to the flex of the phone.

After replacing the phone flex, your done.

Also it might be the screen of the phone. But in other to know if it's the screen, you will need to test a new flex.

You can get a replacement flex from any of the phone repair stores around you.

Hope it helps.

Thanks for using fixya...

My droid screen suddenly turned black but i could still use it, i tried resetting it by pulling the battery out but the same thing occurs. Whenever i would turn the droid back on, the Motorola symbol is no...

You might want to try a hard reset on the phone, it should put your phone back to normal if its a software issue, if its a hardware issue you might have to take the phone apart or send it in for repairs or warranty return.

You can hard reset your Motorola Droid if you want clear all of the data off of the device and start fresh. Here’s how it’s done.

1. Turn the Droid off. If it won’t turn off, take the battery out then place it back in.
2. Open the keyboard and press the X key while pressing and holding Power. The device will power on. Keep holding the buttons down until a yellow triangle appers.
3. Press the Camera and Volume Up buttons at the same time to get to the menu. (I had to press them several times).
4. Use the direction pad to the right of the keyboard to select the Format option.

There may be a physical issue with your touch panel. You can get the part at Droid 2 Repair and there is a guide that shows you how to put in the part at Droid Repair Guide.

I have a new droid by motorola and an old h500 bluetooth headset. It still pairs beautifully with my old blackberry, but won't pair with the droid. HMMM? Any tricks? What am i doing wrong?

You need to put your H500 into "pairing mode" by pressing the call button until the light turns steady blue, instead of blinking. Your droid will then see it when you are in the Bluetooth Settings screen under Networks & Wireless. I just did this myself last night and it worked fine. Be forewarned, however, that you cannot voice-dial with your bluetooth - only answer calls. There are several forums out there that are bashing Motorola & Google for not having this basic functionality.

under tools there is a record option. erase all things that have been recorded. the button on the top screen on the right hand side allows you to record phone calls. You have probably been hitting it on accident and recording calls and such. Let me know if this works.
