Question about Computers & Internet
I have been running MagicJack for several months without any problems. I installed Net Nanny and now our desk top is very slow. MagicJack is only using 6-8,000K of memory but is eating up 99% of the CPU in task manager.
I'm sure there is a configuration I am doing wrong or some compatibility issues with parental control software and MagicJack but I cannot seem to find it.

try loggin into your system with safe mode when you start your system press F8 untill you got different log in options select SAFE MODE, once u log into your desktop START>RUN> type MSCONFIG press entre that sdhould take you in to startup config from the start up option unselect the the option which is using your full CPU usage, log into windows normally and run registry and spyware removal softwares that should help

After 2 days of frustration I was able to solve this by the following:
1. Click Start
2. right click my computer and select properties
3. select hardware then Device Manger
4. click + DVD/CD-ROM Drives
5. right click Tiger Jet CD-ROM USB Drive then Uninstall
6. unplug Magic Jack wait 15 secs
7. Plug back in and let device re-install, MJ may start here, if not...
8. Click Magic Jack Icon, program should start
I have to do this everytime I unplug or restart my computer. I don't know exactly why it hangs like this but this procedure works for me everytime. Good Luck

Did you fully remove the Nvidia software? Sometimes you need to remove the software for the card because it is trying to load when windows starts and cannot find the card. You can also try and disable the agp or pci-express slot in the bios and see if that helps. Also make sure that the onboard video can run the directX version you have installed on your system. If the Nvidia card runs on directX 9 and the onboard video can only run directX 8 and directx 9 is running on your PC then that will definently cause an issue.

Actually with hughesnet its a common issue as it is satellite based service & gives high latency. What you can try is to contact your phone support & ask them if static ip address is going to give any help, as when you have dynamic ip address, your ports changes leading to more latency.
