SOURCE: hi, I have an air handler motor made by GE

See where the purple wire is hooked up in the existing motor diagram (it could be the capacitor or a lower speed for the heater) and compared with the new one , and put it in the same place .But the easiest way to do it ,is to get the original replacement motor.

SOURCE: Goodman Air handler blowing fuse if switch outside unit not runni

Sounds like your compressor in your heat pump is siezed . You can try a "Hard Start" Capacitor...which basically gives your compressor a kickstart and works 95% of the time when compressors get older....It's hooked up in parallel with the existing Capacitor...if you're not familiar with Electrical etc I would call an expert and mention what I said . If this doesn't work you will likely need a new Compressor/Unit . You could also have a short to ground in the heat pump side....likely the compressor is the problem however the original Capacitor could also be the problem

The low voltage wire to the out side is shorted somewhere or the contactor coil is burnt.Thats all it could be one or the other.

We have recently purchased a new home and the UBHK-25J21SFA air handler makes a whistling little tune and then the heat comes on. Never fails to work but noise is annoying.

Make sure the air is balanced... air handlers are rated @ a certain design static pressure. The static rating is on the air handler tag. Have someone measure that static. Too often hvac installers don't know much about airflow & they will undersize ductwork. Then again it could just be a dirty coil.

You can ck the low side of the transformer to see if you are getting 24v with a mutimeter. If you are then look on the cicuit board for a fuse. It would look like a fuse you would find under thr hood of your car. flat with two probes. Purple or pink in color.

Resettable fuse/breaker for TZ-4

The power to your zone panel is from the furnace or air handler. There is a 3 or 5 amp fuse on the circuit board inside the furnace or air handler. I hope this helps. Please don't forget to give me a Fixya rating.

What kind of system do you have? The fuse is usually located on the circuit board inside the furnace/air handler. It's probably a spade type and would be either amber or purple. 3 or 5 amps.

Central A/C will not turn on

There is usually a small fuse inside the indoor unit(furnace or air handler). That fuse generally is located on a circuit board and looks like a car fuse. It may be amber or purple in color. This fuse may have blown. If so you may have a bad circuit board. I recommend calling a NATE certified Tech for service as this one has several possibilities. Good luck.

Ruud air handlers

Check the name plate amperage on the air handler. The air handler only has the blower motor as its main current draw. #12 wire is rated for 20 Amp service. If the amp draw by the unit supplied by the disconnect is under 15 amps it should be fine (but) once again check the name plate for ampacity rating.
