In control panel go to Device Manager, clk the little arrow next to Display adapters, Rt click the adapter & uninstall that adapter (if asked do not remove the drivers). Restart your computer & see if that reinstalls the driver and cures your problem. If not your fan or other malfunction on your Video Driver card is imminant & you may have to replace your card. Do a Search for how to replace your video card for your model & you will be able to find a video that tells you how.

SOURCE: I have a Dell Dimension 4600 and it won't boot up.

i would have to disagree with jerry, while that seems reasonable if the motherboard fan isn't running at all then whether or not the video card is ok is somewhat irrelevant.
I would agree somewhat though, i think the PSU might be a good thing to check to see if it is functional.
when you power it on does the CPU fan start or shudder at least ? that would be my first guess for a problem if you had been having any problems recently

Abcd diagnostic light are green and a and c are yellow

The service manual for the Dell XPS 8300 doesn't show ABCD LED diagnostic lights. On other Dell models Y-G-Y-G indicates a video problem.

Dell computer monitor wont come on when I turn

When you turn on most dell monitors they come on with a yellow light, then turn green when the monitor and video source synch. If your light is not turning from yellow to green, your monitor is either dead or not getting a signal from the video source it's plugged into. Verify in your BIOS settings that you have selected to output video through an installed card and not from the motherboard source. If the BIOS settings are correct, your monitor has died. If the light is turning green after you turn the computer on, press the menu button on the monitor and adjust the brightness/contrast until you have a picture. If you don't see anything when the menu button is pressed, then again your monitor is likely dead.

Dell OptiPlex GX270 mini tower won't boot

Reinstall (remove and reinstall) your USB devices.

Could be memory error. Remove and reinstall your memory modules one at a time.

If not, could be your motherboard.

Hope this helps.

Not the power supply!

Hi

To help troubleshoot a problem, Dell Dimension 5100 has four diagnostic lights labeled "1," "2," "3," "4" on the front panel. When the computer starts normally, the lights flash. After the computer starts, all four lights lites solid green. The power button also lites solid green. If the computer malfunctions, the color and sequence of the diagnostic lights as well as the power button helps identifies the problem.

First, disconnect the power cord and remove all connections (Keyboard, Network, Mouse etc) as well as optional PCI Cards. Connect up the power cord (Monitor as well) and try powering the PC.
Check the diagnostic lights/system lights color and sequence and check the link below for more info (Assuming you have another system that can access internet)
Diagnostic Lights - http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dim5100/en/sm/tshoot1.htm#wp1120147
System Lights - http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dim5100/en/sm/tshoot1.htm#wp1114432

Reply with lights color and sequence as well as any beep codes and I will respond at best effort.

Mike
