If the pump is frozen, put a cardboard box over the unit and use a hair dryer to thaw it out. there may be damage to the interior parts depending on the extent of the freeze.
if you meant that the motor is seized, disconnect the power supply, open the unit and inspect the impeller. there may be a foreign object caught in the impeller. try to spin the impeller. there should be no resistance. if the impeller turns, then the motor is not seized.

My 1999q45t start up but alternator wont turn fan clutch wont turn crank pulley turn battery light on brake on

If I have it right, the alternator will not turn. This might likely be a frozen bearing, if in fact this part is causing the problem.
If the fan clutch is not turning, it may also be a frozen bearing, if this part is the problem.
If the crank pulley is turning, then the motor runs, and the problem is one of the other units that are driven by the serpentine belt that brings the power from the crankshaft.
You also may have a frozen idler pulley, or a frozen water pump, or a frozen power steering pump.
God bless your effort.

My car will start and run for a day then it want start can you start it if the water is frozen in it

Friend,
You have a problem.
Engines are not designed to be frozen.
Engine coolant should be a 50:50 mix of coolant (anti-freeze) and water.
Straight water in an engine will freeze if the temperature gets low enough.
Water when it freezes expands with incredible force, so when trapped in any confined space, it will break the material trapping it.
That means that frost plugs will pop, blocks will crack, the radiator and heater core will burst, and water pump impellors will be locked in place.
If you try to start a frozen engine you may break the serpentine or fan belt or the water pump.
If it should start, there will be no coolant circulating so it will critically overheat in a very short time.
Friend,
You have a problem.
Best of luck.

Car wouldnt start after being hooked up to a battery charger for 24 hours

It could be water frozen in your fuel system (fuel line, fuel filter, fuel pump or pickup or fuel rail). If you can get the car into a garage try letting it warm up, otherwise wait for a warmer day, to try starting it. If it is water in the fuel, you can add "dry gas" to your fuel which is an alcohol product designed to be an antifreeze and to absorb the water. However, if the water is already frozen in your system, this won't help without warming the car up first in some way. If you haven't changed your fuel filter in the last year, I would do that as well. Water can easily build up in a filter and freeze there in extremely cold weather. If this problem is water related, also fill the tank completely with a fresh quality gasoline, and add dry gas for the next several fill ups to help get any water in your fuel system out to keep it from happening again.

I have a whirlpool refrigerator model et1fttxcq08 and the ice maker works fine but the water dispenser will not. You hear the motor when you press on the dispense button but no water comes out.

you will need to check the water line inside the door and make sure there is no frozen water in the line.

To check and make sure the water valve is working you can disconnect the water hose on the bottom of the door make sure to have a glas or small pot handy, when the water line is disconnected you can try and dispence water and if water comes out then you have frozen water in the line in the door.

You can also use a long piece of weed eater line and sticke it through the water line in the door and it should go all the way through.

If no water comes out when you have it disconnected then the water may be frozen in the lines on the inside of the fridge.

If the water line in the door is frozen you can use a blow dryer and blow hot air in the tub alternating between the top and the bottom of the line this can take awhile to do but will clear it up.

I have a 2000 voyager that my water pump went, i lost all the coolant, so i just added water. the temp was out side 10 - 15. the temp is still the same. i went out to start my van, the serpentine belt...

If you do not have acess to a warm garage so you can though the van out properly,it is going to be tough. One can only asume that if the radiator is half full of frozen watter and the bottom rad hose is frozen as well that the block will be half frozen also. You need to remove the radiator, hoses and thermostate.Plug in block heaters, put about half a bottle of strate ANTI- FRE.... in the engine where you took the thermostat from. Place an adiquet drip pan under watter pump area.Thaw Radiator and hoses out in a warm plase.Once the block is thawed out you can install the radiator and hoses and a new belt.If you think it is taking to long to thaw out the engine block you can purchase a heater that will stick to the bottom of the oil pan they are magnetic and very strong, the more heat the better.Good Luck.

let it thaw out ,then see if you have popped a core plug ,if no leaks then put in 3 litres of pure antifreeze and then try starting .petrol or diesel because if its diesel then the fuel could be frozen as well

Water doesn't spin out at end of cycle which means I have to open the trap and hand empty three to four gallons of water before the door will release.and the clothes still have tons of water in them.

Hi there,

Well first of all you can check motor coupler, to test the motor coupler, re-start the washer in its spin cycle. Let the machine run for a minute, and then open the lid and notice whether the tub is spinning:
If it's spinning when you lift the lid, the coupler is fine.

Then check if your washer doesn't spin or pump water out but the motor is running, your washer probably has a frozen pump pulley. If so, you need to replace the pump. To check the pulley, remove the pump from the washer and try to rotate the pulley manually. If it doesn't turn freely, if it's frozen, then you need to replace it.

Good Luck!!

Thanks

Engine problem.

Hi Michael,

The motor shut off and the engine light came on, you won’t start right away and you wait a couple of days and start it again, sounds like your engine was over heated and because it is too hot and the engine frozen.

There are several kinds of engines, water cooling ,oil cooling and air cooling.

Over heated can cause many different problems for the cars, you should check step by step yourself.

Water cooling engine; if you know, you can help somebody.

1. Check the radiator see if you have enough coolant
2. Check the oil see if you have enough oil
3. check the water pump see if the water pump works fine
4. check the thermostat see it is function right.

Suppose your radiator has water or coolant, leave your radiator cap open, start your engine, let it is running 10 to 15 minutes and wait it is getting hot and see the water in your radiator, if the water moves, that means your cooling system works fine, otherwise either the thermostat frozen or the water pump was broken.

You mentioned when you re-start your car, sounds like a diesel engine, please check the where the noise from, if the noise from the water pump area, that means you need to change the water pump. When you change the water pump, change the thermostat at the same time, because when the engine over heated, the thermostat maybe damaged.

Oil cooling engine, check the oil pump. If the noise from the oil pump, you need change it.

Good luck,

Frank
