Having trouble getting spark on a Suzuki 250 4 stroke 91 to 93 change cil an got new spark slug .

Does it have points, an inductive pickup, or CDI ignition? If points, see if there is enough gap to get a spark. In time, the insulated part that rubs on the points-cam wears down and that closes the points. Just a thought..

How to Reinstall a Distributor if Crankshaft Moved.

Applys to all Distributor Engines.

Follow this easy instruccions if you want to reinstall a distributor on a vehicle where the crankshaft was moved from the position it was when the distributor was removed.

Remove #1 spark plug

Place your finger over the spark plug hole while turning the engine with a wrench on the pulley bolt at the front of the engine.

When you feel compression continue turning the crankshaft slowly until the timing mark on the vibration damper is aligned with the "0" on the engine timing indicator.

Position the disttributor rotor between the number 1 & 8 (for 8 Cil.) 1 & 6 (for 6 Cil.) or 1 & 4 (for 4 Cil.) spark plug terminals on the cap.

Lower Dist. into engine. To set the gear on the bottom of the distribuitor, you may need to turn the rotor a little bit. If the distributor does not drop down flush against the block is because the distributor shaft has not mated the oil pump shaft, if this happens, place a large socket w/braker bar on the crankshaft bolt and turn the engine over in the normal direction of rotation until the two shafts engage properly and the distributor sits flush against block.

With the base of the distributor properly seated, turn dist. housing to align the marks you made in dist. base and engine block. (you did make this marks before removal right? : )

Place the hold down clamp and install the hold down bolt not too tight.
Install dist. cap an reconect electrical plugs, spark plug wires, etc.

Check ignition timing and when set, tighten dist. hold down bolt.

Replace ignition coil instructions

Not sure what you are doing but removing the ignition coils is pretty simple. Unplug the coil. Use a 7mm socket to remove the bolt that holds the cil in place. Remove the coil. Some of the coils require a 7mm swivel socket. Not any swivel socket will work. I know for sure that a snap-on or Mac brand swivel socket will work. I also know a craftsman swivel socket will not. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. Thank you for using!

Could it be a fuse in electrial engine fuse that is why my car won't start the ignition just turns no kind of catch. we start it fron in motor no problem so its not the battery.

mcdevito75 here, There should be no fuse keeping your car from starting, possible causes, fuel pump bad, ignition modeule bad, cil pcks if equipped bad. Have your shop check it out.

2.5 tdi 5 cil. is good?

Audi A6 2,5 TDI 5 cil is a great car. The engine is one of Audi's most tested engines. But models before '96 will rust quite a bit, if you dont look af it. So look for rust and be sure that the drive-belt is replaced in time.

Theres no spark

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

A couple of initial checks using a voltmeter:
  • IGN + 12VDC on the red/white wires going to the ignition coils and the TCI;
  • pulsating voltage on the orange and gray wires coming from the TCI going to the ignition coils when starting;
  • ensure that the black wire is tied to the ground;
  • low pulsating voltage between orange & black and the gray & black coming from the pick-up cil connector going to the TCI when starting.

Postback results of tests.

Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa. Happy Holidays.
