Question about Pioneer Televison & Video
When the open button is pushed it says open but does not seem to do anything. After a few seconds it switches to say stop. The same thing happens when using the open option on the remote.

SOURCE: stuck in 'set 1'
Had this same problem and found the solution elsewhere on the net. Hold down the "1" button and the "Enter" button for aprox 10 seconds while pointing at the player. This "resets" the remote. I was skeptical when I first read this solution but it worked for me!

SOURCE: DVD Eject tray stuck
Your problem is more than likely mechanical. There is a belt that makes connection between the motor and the loading mechanism. Take the unit apart. Remove the belt it is probably in the front. Clean the belt and pullies with denatured alcohol. reassemble. The best solution is to replace the belt but this may get you working till you get one. Belt sources http://www.mcmelectronics.com/
