Question about Leisure HOMEPRIDE Electric Fireplace Heater w/ Remote

Open Question

My remote control doesn't work anymore. What do I do?

How do I fix the remote on my Chauffe-Air Firplace? No matter what I do it will not work. I'm tired of having to turn it on and off manually.

SOURCE: Where can I find another

Hi.

To get a replacement remote for this fireplace you need to contact Dimplex. Dimplex is the manufacturer and the only part distributor, along with authorized retailers.

Here the contact page.

My chauffe air heater will not give off any heat

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
If an appliance that should produce heat does not, inspect the element for breaks or obvious damage. If you don't see any damage, test the element for continuity (see below).
  1. Turn off power to the appliance or device. If the unit is plugged in, unplug it from the electrical receptacle (outlet); if the device is wired into the circuit (such as an oven), turn off the circuit at the electrical service panel.
  2. Disassemble the appliance or device to access the heating element, following the guides in this book for your appliance. Some heating elements, such as plug-in units in electric ovens, are relatively easy to remove (see the Electric Oven Fix-It Guide).
  3. Set the multimeter to RX1 (resistance times 1).
  4. Touch the multimeter probes to each end of the element.
  5. High resistance (kilo-ohms or thousands of ohms) indicates the heating element is okay. A reading of infinite resistance indicates a broken element.
  6. If a heating element is faulty, replace it with one of the exact size, shape, power rating, and resistance.
  7. Reassemble the appliance or device and turn it on or plug it in to test it.

Find an access door on the back or side or both.
check lightbulbs.
Do not replace with anything but exact bulb.
try taking the bulb to Lowes...I've gotten luck there before with odd bulbs...they have a special drawer for them.
Good luck,
Vinnie

Ours did the same. My husband checked the manual and found that the filters were FILTHY! The filter is at the front of the inside unit. If you still have the manual it will show you where. This fixed ours as it was NOT working at all!!
