Brother galaxie 3000. error msg saying thread tangled/needle broken? its neither, and the machine will not work until it's cleared. help!!

This is an error generated by an overcurrent on the motor. does the machine turn freely with the power off? My guess is that the upper main shaft bushing has seized. If so you are in for a big job remove shaft and bushings, work bushings free and then reinstall.

Yeah the freeze a bit but if you cut them low and pile straw on them they ride out the winter ok. I cut mine in the fall and pile leaves on them.

The hand wheel on my Janome 9000 has become very tight and hard to turn. I am still able to sew but something isn't right.

It is very likely that the main shaft bushing on the handwheel side has failed. It is very easy to diagnose. With the top cover removed, one can inspect the bushing for any discoloration seeping from the bushing. If that is the case, the main shaft and the bushing will need to be replaced. Not a big deal, I've done lots of them, but definitely a job for an experienced technician. paul@howellgroup.org

hi there
you can go to www.juki .com
under industerial sewing machine youy can download DDL 8700 instruction manual it's same DDL8300 model.
now you can do next steps
1- change needle with new one.
2- you can find tow mark on needle bar the upper mark for adjusting the hight of needle bar bring the needle bar at lower position and check if the upper mark aqual with the lower bushing or no.
3- when the lower mark aqual with the lower bushing at this time the blad point of hook must be at the center of groove for the needle if no lose tow screw for the hook and readjust the timming between the blad point for the hook and grove for needle bar

My sewing machine gears jammed.

One or more of the bushings is seized, the machine needs to disassembled, the bushings removed, cleaned, re-lubricated. Not something you can do yourself.

Bernina Patchwork 140 handwheel is getting stiff to turn

A stiff handwheel can be a simple as a thread stuck in the raceway or as severe as a failed uppershaft bushing.

Using your instruction manual, perform the basic maintenance and see if that helps. If not, take it to a repair person for evaluation.

My Husqvarna Prism 990 only sews in reverse.

You could have an electronic problem on the main printed circuit board or in the feed length stepper motor. You may also just have a bound section in the feed mechanism. I don't think there is a cure all answer for this problem.
A 1/2 second hesitation between depressing the foot control and motor response is very common in these machines
If your husband lubricated the bushings on the upper and lower shafts of your 990 I recommend that you have him remove all of the lubricant possible and keep your fingers crossed. The 990 is a self-lubricating machine and applying machine oil to these bushing will probably cause them to seize. The 990 should never be lubricated in many of the places you would lubricate many machines. Hopefully, you haven't done irreparable damage.
