SOURCE: kenmore frontloader fabric softener dispenser is clogged

There should be pins located somewhere on the dispenser or a grey thing located inside the dispenser, push it down and that will release the dispenser from the washer. Afterwards you can put in in the dishwasher, this should clean out any clogging residue.

Whirlpool duet ghw9100lw2 fabric softener dispenser does not empty. I checked and the drawer is not clogged

Hi,

I do not know your particular machine but most softener dispensing works in a similar manner.

If you haven't actually removed the whole drawer it is necessary to do so. Some will not come out without releasing some sort of catch. Often this is a lip at the rear middle which requires pressing down as you pull the drawer out. Others have the catch underneath or on the side of the drawer.
Once out remove the cover which is (probably) over the softener bit. There is (probably) a small pipe/tube down which the softener and water should pour. So often this tube is clogged with gunge- a mix of softener and powder. It must be absolutely clear and clean for the mix to escape and empty.
This is well worth checking even if you have washed out the rest of the softener drawer, especially if you have done it 'in'situ'!

I do hope this sorts your problem out.

Good luck,

John C

The powder will not dispense. Water is getting in because the powder is wet and clumpy but is still left in the dispenser.

I suggest you remove the soap dispenser drawer and thoroughly clean it, ensuring that the outlet at the back of the drawer where the water and soap feed into the machine are completely clear of any soap buildup.

Before you replace the drawer, ensure that the water feed into the drawer (this is a pipe or tube above the drawer slot) is not clogged with soap.

On spin, water pouring out of washpowder drawer, thankyou

You could have a clog in the housing underneath the dispenser where the water flows through a hose into the tub.
Pull the dispenser drawer completely out.
There is a tab that needs to be depressed to release the drawer and remove it.
Check the opening at the bottom of the housing just inside the dispenser housing opening to see if a small sock or garment is clogging this opening.
Reach down into this opening to see if an item is inside the hose.
This is the normal issue that will cause water to leak out of the dispenser housing.

Wash the dispenser drawer thoroughly with warm water. Make sure that you pull off the siphon covers and wash all siphon holes. This process is described in your owner's manual. Replace the dispenser drawer and try the washer again.

Dispenser shots out water

If possible pull out your drawer and clean it up. Reason due to clogging with detergent, etc. Refer to your manual. If you can't get the drawer out, use a tooth brush to scrub; see that brush does not fall in. The dirt can fall in. To test if clear pour water into drawer.
