The carafe for our Mr Coffee BVMC-PSTX91 leaks (has done so from the start). I can't tell if it is just dribbling from the spout and collecting in the joint between the plastic and stainless steel...

Coffee is leaking past the silicon gasket. To get to the gasket, look for a round plastic plug in the top of the handle and pry it up. Under the plug is a screw that prevents the top of the carafe from twisting off. Remove the screw. Will now be able to unscrew the the plastic handle/top part from the stainless steel pot.

Between the 2 pieces is a silicon rubber gasket. Clean everything good. lubricate the gasket all over with "Plumbers Faucet and Valve Grease" available from Ace Hardware. It is waterproof and resists high temperatures.

Replace the silicon gasket making sure the groove fits over the top lip of the pot. Screw the handle/top part on the pot clockwise. It will only twist a short distance, but make sure it is very snug.

You do not need to replace the screw. This will make it easier to take apart if it leaks again. You might be able to get by with petroleum jelly instead of plumber's grease.

I am missing the hexagonal key for the D150 Nespresso machine necessary to remove cage, where can I find one

Sept 2012--

I had the same problem. I purchased a used D150 and wanted to make sure it was clean before using it but it was missing the special hex key to take off the nozzle part. Here is my fix-

-Remove the water tank

-Turn the whole machine upside down. You want to remove the stainless steel square plate that holds the nozzle assembly in place. It is held there with 4 security screws. If you don't have a special security screwdriver go ask for one at your local hardware store. Get one with multiple tips as there are a few different ones. Don't try to use a regular screwdriver.

-With your new security screwdriver remove the stainless plate. Under each security head screw should be a lock washer- don't lose them.

-Under the plate should be 4 flat washers- don't lose then.

-With the plate removed you can now use an adjustable wrench to remove the hex washer which holds the nozzle assembly in place.

-Once removed the nozzle assembly will have a small rubber washer/gasket in the center- do not lose this!

-Clean all your parts---I just cleaned the rubber gasket with a cloth with water and put the whole nozzle in boiling water then cleaned it up a bit.
-Put everything back like it was and tighten well.

My used D150 works great and makes an awesome espresso!

I just purchased a Bialetti stainless steel 6-cup stove top espresso maker. I cleaned it, assembled it according to the instructions, and went to brew my first coffee. I didn't grind the coffee too fine,...

There is a valve in the compartment where you place your fresh, cold water. This valve must not be covered as it is necessary in building up steam pressure to push the brewed espresso upwards. Also, most stove espresso makers have a rubber type gasket that is usually placed on the base of the upper part of the maker. Check that you have a gasket.

I melted the rubber seal in my 4 cup Bialetti coffee maker. I forgot to put the water in it. Now I am trying to remove the smelly melted rubber from inside the threads and and coffee holder. Please how can...

I have the same problem. Scraped most of the rubber off mine with a knife. I'm going to try steel-wool next, as the whole thing is stainless-steel (or perhaps in your case, Aluminium), it should take a good sound beating.
I wonder if there are any solvents that would dissolve the rubber?

K-Cups disappointing

I had same problem and called Keurig. They advised me that the gasket in the upper portion, where the top needle is needs to be brought down about half way, almost even with the bottom of the top needle. Be careful not to poke yourself. I brewed a cup with the resuable filter assembly and it worked great. It should stay in that position until you use an actual k-cup. When using it will push the gasket back up, as it needs pressure to puncture the hole. To go back to the resuable filter, you will need to lower the gasket again. She advised me that they are working on a fix for this issue and will notify you of any replacement parts, as long as they have your current contact info.

I'm having a similiar problem. I found that the website chefini.com has some Giannini gaskets. I have emailed them with questions about fit, and they have been very helpful.

Have decided that I will never again buy an espresso pot without first locating and ordering replacement gaskets!

I need a new funnel for my vev vigano kontessa 6 cup stove top espresso

Usually most stove top espresso makers manufacture these parts to the same standard. Take your old funnel, go to a kitchen store where they sell Bialetti, and compare their funnel size to your funnel size (for the same size put). I noticed that usually, it's the rubber gaskets that may differ slightly. Or you could email customer service of www.vev-vigano.com.
