Reset ip address

If you use DSL or a cable modem you could try (as mentioned above) resetting your IP address. Go to the RUN command, type "command"

There you can type:
/ipconfig
(shows your current IP)

/ipconfig /ALL
(more details such as when the current IP "lease" expires)

/ipconfig /renew
(renews your IP address)

/ipconfig /release
(drops your current IP)
Bell High Speed users need only reset the modem to obtain a new IP. You can check your current IP address from http://www.ip-details.com

Hi. i cant connect to print server d-link dp301p+ IP to configure it?! who knows what IP by default it have? 192.168.0.10 doesnt work... Thanks, Mike

First find out the IP address , Subnet mask, and Gateway addresses of your ISP ( Internet Service Provider ). According to above addresses, you have to complete the network settings of your printer by mentioning the different IP address .

To find out the above mentioned addresses, first open the control panel -> network connections -> local area connction -> properties -> Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPV4) OR Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPV6)according to your ISP -> Properties

By the systematic selection as mentioned above you will get the IP address, subnet mask and Gateway addresses.

Suppose your IP address is 192.168.0.10 , the gateway may be 192.168.0.1 Or any number. And the subnet mask may be XYY.XYY.XYY.0.

According to your ISP addresses you have to complete the network settings of your printer. First press the additional functions -> system settings -> network settings -> TCP/IP settings -> fill up the addresses as follows.

IP address : 192.168.0.16 OR any number .

subnet mask : XYY.XYY.XYY.0.

Gateway : 192.168.0.1

Hurray ! the problem about your network connection with the printer to your computer will be automatically solved.

(net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED):

This is almost certainly a Domain Name Server (DNS) problem. Typically when you surf the internet you type in the URL of a website and the DNS assigned to handle your computer's queries translates that name into an IP address. These IP addresses are usually obtained from the closest relevant Router Gateway, which in most cases is provided and maintained by your Internet Service Provider (ISP).

Try opening a simple command prompt (assuming you're using Windows) by opening the Start menu and typing "cmd" into the search field at the bottom of the menu, then pressing "Enter."

Once you have the command prompt open, simply type the following: "ping 127.0.0.1" and wait while your Network Interface Card (NIC) or Wireless NIC performs the standard loop-back test to see if your networking hardware is functioning correctly. If it is working correctly, you should get four consecutive "replies" printed out in your command prompt window. If the loop-back test fails, try opening another command prompt, but this time right-click on the search result and "Run As Administrator." Then run the command "sfc /scannow," which will check your TCP/IP stack (part of Windows) and attempt to repair whatever part is damaged.

If the problem persists, check your drivers by right-clicking on "My Computer" or "This PC" and then left-clicking "Manage." A window will open with a variety of administrator tools on the left-hand side--click on "Device Manager" and see if there is a problem with your NIC/WNIC's driver(s). At this point you can try to let Windows automatically search for a driver to fix your connectivity issues by right-clicking on the yellow exclamation point and selecting "Update Driver."

I've attached a few screenshots to help guide you through the processes detailed above. If all else fails you can attempt to manually enter the DNS IP addresses provided free of charge by Google, which are "8.8.8.8" and "8.8.4.4," respectively.

Connection error

can you clarify the switch configuration, by default it will have all ports as untagged in the default vlan 1 with a bootp/dhcp address, I assume you will need to perform some kind of routing ie; default gateway, ip-helper address or static route to point to your routing device ADSL router etc try the following;

1~ configure an ip helper address on vlan 1 to point to what ever is supplying dhcp

2~ create a defualt route on the switch ie; 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 to next hop / routing device

3~ configure a default gateway ie; ip default-gateway x.x.x.x where x= routing device

the above can be accomplished via a serial connection to the switch using hyperterminal with the following settings

bits per second 9600
data bits 8
parity none
stop bits 1
flow control none

let me know if this resolves the issue

NO IP or MAC displayed

Solution: IP of 0.0.0.0 means your DHCP server is not providing configuration settings to your network card. Reset router/access point by pressing the reset button with your finger, the tip of a pen, or a paper clip for at least 30 seconds. Try again! If this solution doesn't work, try turning off computer, turn off router/AP, and DSL/Cable modem. Turn on devices in reverse order. First power on modem, then router/AP, then computer. Connect to router/AP and see if it provides IP. If this solution doesn't work, your DHCP settings are not configured correctly. See router's manufacturer manual or visit their Web site.
