How to fix the power supply of Canton plus beta power subwoofer

The power subwoofer can not turn on. Cable is ok, which lead me to believe the power supply is defective. Any suggestions about the specification and how to replace the caps is appreciated.

SOURCE: PAradigm ps-1000 subwoofer

It turns out its most likely one of the resistors on the PCB on the amplifier plate.

My uncle has had the same problem and managed to replace the resistor and its working as normal now.

Connect front the sub out (single) on the amp to one of the rca inputs on the sub, This will work reasonably well but to make the most from the sub buy a 2 rca to 1 rca cable and use it to connect both rca inputs on the sub to the single output on the amp

Im getting sound through my wired speakers but no bass through the woofer itself, does this mean i have a blown fuse or something more serious?

1. Check audio wiring.
2. Check subwoofer power cable.
3. If you have any way to substitute for the subwoofer this can confirm wiring.
4. The crossover in the amp may not be working, sending no low range to the subwoofer.

Beeps 2 times & a warbling noise when trying to boot up - unplugging power lead & pressing ON/Off button & reconnecting power lead starts up OK - but it can be OK for several days & then repeats the p

The Cause of Problem:

The Power Buttons electrical circle sometimes just braked it by one of sensors and the result is the 2 beeps and Power Supply is in protected mode error.

The whole computer is turn off but the power button is turn on and this is the nub of the matter. Because if you want turn on the computer you can't because already turn on but just the Power button and you can't do anything.

The solution:
You need just change the Power Supply and don't do anything just the power cable put into the Power Supply after turn off computer.
Finaly change back the Power Supply.

Can't get sound JBL Media 100 speakers/ subwoofer with mac

I am not sure what the extra lead is for. The instruction book should make it plain how it should be connected. If you have no instructions perhaps they can be downloaded from the manufacturer's website.

My 5:1 speaker system is prewired and has only one audio in lead and a socket for the power supply. The audio lead of such speaker systems is generally equipped with a 3.5mm stereo jack plug intended to be used in the headphone socket of computers, tv's, radios and anything with a headphone socket, even phones.

Once you are certain the speakers are properly connected they should work if there is audio present at the headphone socket of the Mac. A known pair of headphones can be used to test this and conversely the speakers could be tested by plugging them into any other known good audio source.

The presence of an RCA or phono plug/lead is confusing as these aren't usually associated with active speaker systems for computer and general use but rather for more serious audio such as connections between an amplifier and peripherals or cinema surround sound. Such a system probably wouldn't be suitable for use with a computer...

Loud Hum in Pinnacle 150 subwoofer

The hum is likely due to either a failed capacitor in the subwoofer power supply or as it was for me, a cold solder joint on the capacitor. The fix is simple, but does require soldering. Unplug the subwoofer and set it on a good working surface. Remove the screws holding the back panel to the cabinet. These screws are the ones near the edge of the panel. Take off the panel by pulling back on it, reach into the subwoofer and carefully unplug the red and black speaker leads noting which one goes to each connector. Orient the panel with the electronics side up and the power cord at the lower right of the panel. Just to the left of where the power cord is soldered to the board is a large cylindrical capacitor. It is by far the largest cylidrical component on the board. This capacitor filters the hum made by the step down transformer in the power supply. If the capacitor is not working the subwoofer hums. The capacitor is soldered to the back of the electronics board. We had to reach in with a modified soldering iron to remove the capacitor. Before removing the capacitor check the orientation, there is a plus and minus, make sure it goes back in the same way. After removing the capacitor inspect the capacitor leads to see if they were both soldered correctly. If one of the leads is not silver the most likely cause is a cold solder and the fix is to simply clean up the capacitor leads by scraping off anything that is not silver, tinning the capacitor leads and re-soldering it to the board. If the leads look like they had a good solder, test the capacitor by using an ohm meter (used to test resistance) between the capacitor leads. The meter should show low resitance and as the capacitor charges the resitance should go up to infinite. If the meter does not behave this way while testing the capacitor, replace the capacitor. Bring the old capacitor with you to the electronics part store to make sure you get one that has the same electrical properties as the one you are replacing. The form of the capacitor might be different but as long as it is has the right electrical properties it will work. - and don't foget to make sure the polarity is correct when you solder it in!
