I couldn't find any manuals online either, and Vivitar support doesn't even list it. Don't know what you're saying by the disk "not allowing" you. Could you try it on another computer, or a friend's, and see if you can get it working, and then download the .pdf to your computer?
Otherwise, you will have to contact Vivitar and try to get them to send another CD. Here's their support page:
If you have a contact number in your manual, it might be better to call it.
Good luck, and hope this helps.

SOURCE: I got a Vivitar ITwist

You can get memory cards at online shops or in stores like Walmart or Walgreens. (Check near the camera display in a brick and mortar store.)

Make sure to get an SD (or SDHC) card of 32 MB or less for the iTwist. For some SD cards online, look at . For SDHC cards, see . Note that you need to be careful to insert the card without setting the write protection switch to the protected mode. You may need to format the card before first use.

Some camera bags are sold as kits with a tripod and memory card. (These will be many stores that sell the camera.)

I hope this helps.

The only sd card i can find locally is an 8gb marked PNY SD HC it says on the packaging that this is new technology and only compatible with SD HC host devices. Is this card suitable for the Vivitar...

To be correct, the 8GB card is not an SD card but an SDHC card.

The 925DVR can use both SD and SDHC cards, up to 32GB in size. There should be no problems with the PNY card.
