Have you tried to "re-boot" your device ? e.g. hold down the ON/OFF button for a (long) while ... until the device shuts down and restarts ... (and see if it goes past that point)
Or have you tried to do a "hard" reboot, by pushing a pin into the RESET hole (at the bottom of the GPS) to shut it down and restart it ?
If both of these doesn't work, it may be a (navigation) software error. In this case, try to restore your navigation software from your (latest computer) back-up ... and see if that solves the problem.
if not, you may have to get TomTom support's help to download a "fresh" version of your navigation software to install on your GPS device, and then try to start it up ...

Oddly enough something similar recently happened to my 2009 650i recently purchased. The system would intermittently cut out and restart, turning on the radio even with another source selected or radio off. No idea if there is a short or software issue causing it, but it started when I put the navigation DVD in and tried to use it. Took the DVD out and restarted the system, problem hasn’t returned. I’ve read about others having similar issues with the navigation system causing the radio/idrive to cut out as well. It’s a long shot, but worth posting so others don’t spend money chasing a problem solved by using your smartphone instead of the car’s navigation.

I would say try to troubleshoot it. But, I think in the end you will just need to reset the PS3 back to factory settings/format everything.

Press the "MENU" button and navigate to the reset command and reset the camera. That may get the camera to function properly.
