Toro Workman 3200 stalls when letting the clutch out in third gear. There isn't a problem with 1st or 2nd gear when letting the clutch out, just when letting the clutch out in 3rd gear.

Lost forward gears


You have lost the 1st, 2nd, etc. in DRIVE? If you put the car in SECOND does it move forward a little bit? Put the car in Manual 2nd, can you shift into DRIVE and feel the third gear? This happened to me. The 'forward clutch' needs replacing. The transmission clutch plates in that part are glazed over because the fluid is burned. See if your fluid is brown.

Toro workman 3200 wont crank


Try a little starting fluid directly into the carb. If that works, then you have narrowed it down to a fuel flow problem. On mine, the fuel pickup hose cracked where it came through the gas tank. I replaced it and it fired up on the third pull.

go to Toro commercial service center. They are expencsive. I have the same set up as your workman for fertilizing and spraying. Where are you located? I am in Holland,, Michigan

How to drive?


you can ride the cluthch on a bike un like a car you wont hurt it its oil lubricated constantly, sitting on the bike pull the clutch in with your left hand and click the left foot lever down in to 1st, then learn how to click it back up 1 half movement in to neutral. the neutral light will come on sfter the bike enters neutral. in first gear give the throttle on the right hand a squeeze and pull the clutch in with your left hand put foot gear selector down in to 1 st and begin to release clutch slowly. hold on as bike will engage may be jerky balance yourself! when you get moving stop! by pulling the clutch in and the hand brake as you close the throttle to stop! practice your take off many times some where safe! when you get your balance in 1st gear pick up speed and begin shifting the foot gear selector up in to 2nd gear and practice closing the throttle and breaking to a safe stop. gears are generslly 1st down 1 click 2345 and6th all up from there and neutral is 1 half a click up from 1st between 2nd gear. And dont put it in gear with the kick stand down t may stall on you

Hi, it seems you have faulty clutch from the description you made concerning the grinding noise when you tried 2nd and 3rd gear which i thinks is as a result of the stuck and scratch you had on the speed bump. And if you try riding it in its present state, you will end up damaging the gear box...

Now if your engine stalls when you drop into 1st gear, with the clutch disengaged, then the clutch plates are stuck together. Normally in this case, before starting the engine, try putting the transmission in 2nd or 3rd gear (But you already have a problem doing that which is also as a result of the faulty clutch), pull the clutch in and roll the bike forward and backward a few times to free the stuck plates. Meanwhile fresh gasoline maybe all you need..

In summary, a clutch problem....

clutch hydraulic system has failed
low fluid levels , air in system,problem clutch master cylinder will cause the indicated problems
take it to a clutch/brake specialist shop and get a proper diagnosis and quote

have it inspected, codes may be stored to help in diagnosing. an engine issue could cause this if a sensor is bad.

1995 Sabb 900 clutch wont engege in reverse


Bad syncro for third gear. Sorry, but you aren't fixing this one yourself, unless you replace the transmission yourself.
