I learned recently that, since I purchased mine with a VISA card, VISA automatically doubled my warranty to extend it to a second year. Hope this helps someone else.

The Lg lcd was srtruck by a remote and now looks like a small crak on the inside towards the bottom right hand corner and there is no picture but audio does work

You would have to try an INIT and see if it causes the tv to be operational again. It is something that you have to be walked through step by step by step and can erase the memory of the tv if done improperly. I would get it fixed under warranty ASAP! not a good sign. If you open it, it will void warranty.
