Question about Canon SmartBase MP730 All-In-One InkJet Printer
Canon mp730 won't print color. have added 2 new print heads, problem started when I installed the first new printhead. new ink tanks used both times. made no difference. black prints but no color
I would test using color copy, and make sure it does not work in color there. You are using a new print head and new cartridges that are full and seal removed, so everything should work. Well your printer is getting old, and those contacts on the carriage may be tarnished a bit. Before you give up, remove the print head, and with a knife scrape those flexible pins a couple of times, one row at a time, and put everything back, lever down, cartridges in, and see what happens.

You could clean the black ink cartridge. For this you need to remove the black ink cartridge which is present in the printer. In order to clean the laser or scanner block you could use a cotton swab as it would fully clean the dirt. You need to clean the grime and the dried ink present in the printer. This would remove all the hindrances which prevent the ink from flowing. Cleaning the printer heads would also help to solve the problem.
