Question about Washing Machines
It was found lying in the bottom of machine...can see that foam block is shredded, somethings out of balance...whats most likely??
Hi. I am assuming you have the front cover off to be able to see the belt laying on the base. First thing is to make sue all bolts holding the motor assembly to inner frame are tight. Next, check your SPRINGS and their mounts...Rust and corrosion is main cause of failure. The belt goes around the water pump, transmission pully and inside of idler(tensioner) pully. Good luck! Check the belt idler wheel by the motor. You may have to apply a little pressure to this wheel to see if the belt stops slipping. Keep in mind that the belt may be worn or stretched

SOURCE: How to replace belt on washer
Haha Yes With the very limited info you have provided us I still think I can help You just in the future be more specific. This is a Amana or Speed Queen washer?? To replace the belt Remove hoses from pump, remove wiring connector from motor, dislodge 2 front tub springs from tub end. Remove 4 -- 1/2 head bolts holding motor/pump frame to washer frame. Remove motor/pump from washer turn upside down. 3 Torx bolts hold pump to motor. Belt must be routed through pump proper. REinstall pump.

The repair sounds worse than it is.
2 hose clamps
4 big bolts
3 torx screws
a little wiggling and viola!
hints: take a good look (or digital pix) of the belt before you remove the pump, keep a few large towels around to handle the water in the hoses and to cover the front edge of the machaine to make it more comfortable when you're removing and installing the motor, the connector has a latch you have to press while removing the cable, the mounts for the motor frame/pump assy. need to be sprung out a bit when reinstalling.
Comment: the shaft from the motor is "double-D" shaped and slips into a plastic fitting in the middle of the pump. I don't see how you can break the pump unless you drop the motor assy on it...
Kudos to "sir fixalot" for giving me the courage to rip in to it...
