You need to install the drivers for your removable storage device. These can usually be obtained from the removable device's manufacturer's web site.

How do I down load photo's from my Samsung 2 phone please

First make sure you have the correct USB drivers for your phone installed on your pc. Go to device manager and see if your phone or mass storage device is listed. If not, download the drivers here, http://www.samsung.com/us/support/downloads. Make sure debugging on your phone is enabled. Please refer to the following:

  1. To set the Samsung Galaxy S2 to USB Mass Storage (MSC) mode, go into "Settings > Applications > Development" and enable "USB debugging".

  2. Then drag the status bar down and tap on "USB connected".

  3. The "USB connected" screen with the large green Android icon will appear. Tap on "Connect USB storage".

A confirmation dialog box will appear. Tap "OK". The green Android icon will turn orange, indicating that the phone is now in USB Mass Storage mode and should now appear as USB disk drives in "Devices with Removable Storage" and be assigned drive letters.

Samsung Galaxy S2 (Android 4.0)

  1. To set the Samsung Galaxy S2 to USB Mass Storage (MSC) mode, go into "Settings > More... > USB utilities" and tap on "Connect Storage to PC".

Cannot import pictures to my computer via the camera wizard

ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS TO COMPUTER
If your photos are stored on the memory card, then removethe memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader.Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of yourworking computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device oran external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card andcopy the photos to your computer.Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. Youcan copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off yourmemory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing anyprograms.

I attached the portable drive to my computer and i don't know what else to do

If a Windows based machine, locate and double click "My Computer" (or similar). A box will open and show the devices attached to your computer. Fixed drives such as "C:" appear under "hard disks and CD, DVD players, external drives and thumb drives will appear as "devices with removable storage" or as "portable storage"

Plug the drive's USB cable into the computer (if it isn't already) and double click the new drive to view the contents. Often times, these drives ship with software to perform back ups, or other utility - or include the manual and warranty information. You can use the drive as if it were one of the other permanently connected drives inside your computer.

Make sure that you click on the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon in the System Tray BEFORE unplugging the drive's USB cable. Data loss can result if disconnected before the data has been written completely to the disk.

I hope this helped & good luck!

Drivers,software

Hello, and thanks for using FixYa.

The Sansa e260 should work fine with windows media player 10 or 11 installed on the computer.
you can get the latest media player 12 from http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/products/windows-media-player

Also the sansa can also be used as a storage device, in its usb settings select Storage instead of the other settings ( sorry I don't remember what it was M.. something ) And then the sansa will appear in your "my computer" or computer - which you can find from either your desktop or the start menu. As a Removeable Storage device and you can transfer songs etc in and out of the device by dragging them in there.

Please let me know if you require further assistance or if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Ekse

Hi,

A generic procedure is :-

  1. Turn on your computer. Plug the USB cable that came with your MP3 player into an open USB port on your computer.
  2. Step 2 Turn off your MP3 player and plug the other end of the USB cable into the USB port located on top of the player. Turn on the player.
  3. Step 3 On your computer, right-click the pictures you want and select "Copy" from the menu that appears.
  4. Step 4 Double-click the "My Computer" icon on your computer. Double-click "MP3 player " or ' MP3 Device" in the "My Computer" window.
  5. Step 5 Open the "Pictures" folder. Right-click and select "Paste" from the menu that appears.
  6. Step 6 Let the files copy. Click the "Safely Remove Device" icon located on the left side of the Start toolbar at the bottom of your screen.
  7. Step 7 Click "Safely Remove USB Storage Device." Wait for a message to appear that says it is safe to remove the device, and then unplug the USB cable from your computer and your MP3 player.
Hope i helped you.

Thanks.

I can't get photos' from my phone to pc using USB wire

Hai, It is possible to connect the device and make it appear as a removable disk or mass storage device. The same as connecting a USB drive to the computer. To do that, go to Start > Settings > USB Connection mode on the phone. Choose Mass Storage and My storage in the drop down list. If you have a storage card, it will alse appear in that list. Now, all you have to do, is connect your device, open Windows Explore on the computer to copy/paste your pictures to the location you want. Again, this is a much faster way to transfer a lot of files rather than using WMDC to sync.

How do I get started using a USB flash drive and how do I set up a security system?

hey, heres something that would help u:  Copying files to a flash drive on a PC:
  1. Open My Computer and see which drives are shown. Most computers, for example, have a hard disk such as a C: drive and a few removable storage devices such as a floppy drive, a CD-ROM drive, and perhaps a zip drive.
  2. Insert the flash drive into the USB port and watch to see where the USB flash drive appears. Most will appear as removable storage, but some will instead appear as hard drives. Note the name Windows is using to refer to the flash drive ("Removable Disk (G:)," for example).
  3. Open My Documents or the location from which you want to transfer files to the flash drive. Select the files or folders you want to save to the flash drive by left-clicking on them. To select more than one, hold down the CTRL key while you click and select all of the files you wish to save.
  4. Right-click on the file(s) or folder(s) you selected, then select Send to, then select the name you saw appearing in My Computer for the flash drive ("Removable Disk (G:)," for example).
  5. When the copying is finished, do not immediately remove the flash drive from the USB port. Instead, left-click on the Remove Hardware icon toolbar.gif located in the System Tray. A window containing a list of the USB devices will appear. Left-click on the Safely Remove Mass Storage Device line that matches your flash drive (for example, Safely Remove Mass Storage Device - Drive(G:)).
  6. When you see the following message appear in the bottom left toolbar, it is, as it says, safe to remove the flash drive from the USB port; you may close the message or ignore it, as it will close itself automatically:

Are you connecting your phone as a Mass Storage Device?

  1. From the home screen, attach one end of the Motorola Original Enhanced USB cable to your phone and the other end to a USB port on your computer.
  2. On your phone, press Yes to use the phone as a portable USB storage device.
Note: When connected as a storage device the phone cannot perform regular phone activities. Disconnect to resume normal operation.
  3. On the PC, open the My Computer window and find where your phone displays as a Mass Storage icon.
Double click the Mass Storage Device icon.
  4. Drag and drop files between your computer and phone.
  5. When finished, remove the phone safely from your computer. Right click the "Safely Remove Hardware"
icon at the bottom of your computer screen, then select "USB Mass Storage Device" and click Stop.
  6. Select USB Mass Storage Device and click OK.
Now it is safe to disconnect the cable. When the cable is disconnected, the phone restarts
