If you are using a disk it is probably damaged. Get a replacement from Corel and use your install code you have already purchased. make sure the version of the program you are installing is compatible with Win 8 andd your hardware.

Corel DRAW X6 problems

Hi,
I presume you mean CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6 and NOT technical Suite?
If nothing seems to work I would then do as follows.
1.Uninstall CorelDRAW X6 via Control Panel
2.After uninstalling X6 in the Control Panel - Go BACK to the Control Panel and uninstall "Corel Graphics - Windows Shell Extension".
3.Then go to Documents > Corel folder > Uninstall/Delete anything that says CorelDRAW X6
4.You can also go to C: > Program > Corel and delete anythign that says CorelDRAW X6
5.Repeat step 4, but choose folder called Programx86, and delete anything that says CorelDRAW X6
6.You should now have uninstalled everything that useally could disturb when you re-install from scratch.
7.NOW put in your DVD again with CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6 - and INSTALL from Scratch.
8.You SHOULD now be able to run your CorelDRAW X6.
9.And NOW you should go online to www.corel.com and download and install Update/service pack and Hotfix for CorelADRAW Graphics Suite X6
10.It should in all normal situations work just fine on your PC with any Windows 7 version as well as any Windows 8 and 8.1 version.
11.Try to use a program to recover and view CDR files. For example, you can try this CDR Open File Tool http://www.cdr.openfiletool.com/
12.Also recommend to come to this forum. Many have useful information on the topic. http://www.filerepairforum.com/forum/cad-tools/cad-tools-aa/coreldraw/479-problems-with-cdr-files
Good luck and hope this helps!

I have used CorelDraw 8 for years, and the clipart worked fine, even with Windows XP, but I installed CorelDraw X4 and installed it. But after Installing CorelDraw X4, I could no longer is CorelDraw 8...

I had a similar problem with Coreldraw 8. I used it successfully for years and loved it on varoius version of Windows, currently XP. I installed Coreldraw 12 and still had Corel 8 on the computer.
Now the problem: Corel 8 and Corel 12 could not open the Corel 8 clipart disk #2, only just down to the folder level. When I right clicked on the Corel 8 disk #2 clipart folder and checked the Path Properties it gave me a path other than the correct clipart disk location (in my case it should have read E:) BUT it was some weird location like
MNfisherman referenced above and read: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Corel.! What the?! I knew the path should have read E: to access the clipart since the clipart was on the disk and in my CD tray, so I uninstalled Corel 12 thinking that was the problem since 8 had worked fine, then checked the clipart CD again but still no luck.
I then uinstalled Corel 8, so now I had no Corel program on hard drive. I put the Corel 8 clipart disk #2 in the computer knowing it would not open the clips but just to see if I could get beyond the folder level to see if the clipart files were there and yes I could. (I could only read the names of the files at this point because no Corel on computer) So I only reinstalled Coreldraw 12 figuring the later version would open the older version clipart and Success! It worked. I think my problem had something to do with the Corel 8 MF indexer, but I'm not sure. I had a red semi circle (like the Corel Set Up Semi circle) on all of the clipart folders instead of the regular yellowish fold so thats why I think it had something to do with indexer or other type of setup conflict). Now all of my clipart folders appear normal being the regular yellowish color folder.
I suggest using a clean slate by unistalling all versions (Make sure you shut down the computer after each uninstall to get rid of all of the components of the program and then restart the computer) and then only reinstall the newest version. Hope this helps. Good Luck

Coral paint pro x2 is unable to update

My solution here is :

1: to look on your firewall if it bloks Corels internet acces
2: Try to install the software again
Is it a legal copy you have ?, if yes to contact C. paint shop pro x2 support team if its still not working, maybe the setup file is corrupted. But first try the first 2 solution
Good luck !

reinstall windvd if that doesn't work than uninstall and go to windows explorer and delete windvd folder that it left behind than reinstall it again fresh. If that does not work you should upgrade.

Hello and welcome to FixYa . In order to re-install WinDVD 9, remove all traces of WinDVD manually only delete the folders if they exist, and if allowed. If you cannot delete a folder, try renaming the folder by adding .old to the name of the folder. You will need to show hidden files and folders on the computer on XP go to Start, All Programs, Windows Explorer, tools, Folder Options, View, Hidden files and folders, Show hidden files and folders. Using windows Vista Start button getopencontent.aspx?assetid=4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33&documentset=en-us&renderkey=xml, Control Panel, Appearance, Personalization, Folder Options, View, advanced settings, Show hidden files and folders, OK. The following folders will need to be erased.
Go to My Computer Use Start button, or on the Desktop. On Vista, Computer. Double click on C: drive, Documents and Settings and the folder named after your username.
When you reach the "InterVideo" folder, there will be a DVD9 folder, which is the one you are looking to erase. Note -This folder may be named Corel\DVD9 instead of InterVideo\DVD9 Erase the following folders Go to C:\Program Files\InterVideo or Corel delete the folder DVD9 Go to C:\Program Files\InterVideo\Common delete the folder Bin Go to C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information delete the folder {E3993D46-AE3F-402E-9F9D-EEBDFBEC3564} Go to C:\Program Files\Common Files delete the folder InterVideo Go to C:\Program Files\InterVideo\Common\ delete the folder Bin The second place to remove WinDVD 9 settings is in the registry.
Go to Start, Run type in regedit click ok. left hand column will be a list of items double click on HKEY_CURRENT_USER double click Software and InterVideo At the very end, when you reach the InterVideo folder, erase the DVD9 folder, by right clicking on it, and hitting Delete. WinDVD 4.0 won't work anymore!

You could move it back, and it might still work.
You can't simply move programs from one drive to another, as you do your documents, because of the way applications are installed. When you installed the software, it located drivers and links in windows system files, etc. etc., that it uses when it functions as an application. When you move the program files, you break these links, and it can't find the other parts of itself anymore.
The best thing to do is reinstall the software to the new location, which is simple if you still have the cd.
If not, you can look in your program files folder under WinDVD and see if you can locate the setup.exe file, and attempt to run it from the new drive. This may be able to install the application anew, and during setup you can point it to the location where you want it to reside.
Failing that, you might try going to add/remove programs in control panel and see if there's an option under the WinDVD to change, rather than simply remove the program. If so, you could conceivably run the setup from here, by opting to change. (I suspect this won't work, though, for the same reason the program itself doesn't work.)
Otherwise, you can download a copy of this software from the web. Here's one link:
http://www.tucows.com/preview/228053
Unfortunately, that doesn't help you recover your license key, which is required to keep that trial version functioning. For that, your best bet would be to contact Intervideo support and plead your case...http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/us/en/Content/1152796555474
(Note the company has changed hands since then.)
Perhaps someone sneakier than I knows how to retrieve that lost license key from your program files. Just in case, don't delete them or uninstall the program until you've decided to abandon it.
But if they want you to pay for the old one, consider upgrading to a newer version that's compatible with your operating system. It will take a little relearning, but DVD software has definitely improved since 2002, when that was first released.
You have my sympathy, and best wishes for a successful outcome!
