I have a whirlpool duet gas dryer model ggw9200lw1. when i press the start button it clicks once but wont run.

First, check the door switch. Push and release it by hand and you should hear a click. If no sound, replace the door switch with this part.
If the switch is ok, press the cancel button on the machine. Then do this. press and hold the start button for 2 seconds then release wait 2 seconds and press and hold again for 2 seconds continue this pattern until the dryer goes into test mode. You will see all the lights on the control light up. press each button on the control one at a time 3 times each. (Do not press the cancel button) until the dryer begins to run. When the dryer starts to run then press the cancel button. Then your machine should function properly.

We have a whirlpool duet gas front loader dryer and one morning the front panel says control lock?? What's solution for that??

The Control Lock is a child lock option. This prevents the dryer being started or the cycle being changed when it shouldn't. To toggle this off, you need to press and hold the Control Lock button on the WGD9550WL for 3 or more seconds. Other dryers use pressing and holding Cancel or two separate buttons for the feature. The appropriate button or set of buttons will usually have a Hold for 3 seconds label below or on the key in a small font.

The manual will also have the information on toggling the control lock on and off. Most Whirlpool manuals are available here: https://www.whirlpool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/OCManualsLiteratureSearchView?catalogId=10561&langId=-1&storeId=10211&krypto=5QgxQhneFliXuEuX564wSQ%3D%3D&ddkey=http:OCManualsLiteratureSearchView . Put your model number in the search box and press the right arrow. For dryers the model number is inside the door on the rim of the dryer. If you add a comment with your Whirlpool model number, I will be glad to check if there a different Control Lock option for that Duet model.

I hope this helps.

Dryer is on LOCK CONTROL how do Iget it off?

The model number did not cross but here is what the manuals say for a Duet dryer:

CONTROL LOCKED

This feature allows you to lock your settings to

prevent unintended use of the dryer. You can

also use this feature to prevent unintended

cycle changes during dryer operation.

To enable the Control Locked feature:

Press and hold the End Of Cycle Signal button

for 3 seconds. The control is locked when a

single beep is heard and the Control Locked

status light is on.

• When the dryer is off, it is not necessary to

press the Control On button before activating

the Control Locked feature.

To unlock the Control Locked feature:

Press and hold the End Of Cycle Signal button

for 3 seconds to turn this feature off.

NOTE: When the dryer is running and Control

Locked is on, the dryer can be stopped by

pressing the Pause/Cancel button, but cannot
be restarted until the control is unlocked

Let me know if this does not work.

Whirlpool duet dryer will not start. Panel lights come on as usual and when press start machine clicks and will not start. Light on wet sensor lights and no drying action begins.

press the cancel button on the machine. This is a secret test and reset for your dryers control, so please keep this between us. The whirlpool people would be heart broke if they see this posted on the web ;-) . If your dryer will still not start after this test, you may need a new control. If you need a part let me know and I can ship it right to you. Good luck and I hope this will fixYa and saves you the $400.00 it would cost for whirlpool to send a certified tech to come to your home.
