SOURCE: Purchased an alpine 3011 graphic equalizer that

You are going to need the DIN plugs for the unit, on the back there are two imput jacks. The left jack is for the imput from your head unit, as far as I know, there is no other way for the EQ to accept imput except for the jack. The right one is for a digital time delay unit (rare). Coming out of the unit there are two output jacks, one is line out front, the other is line out rear. With these, there are also your power, ground, remote power, and speaker out puts. Good luck. I had one of these back in the 80's.

Need wire diagram for clarion 500EQA equalizer

Your installation manual is not anywhere to be found since the product you are inquiring about was made 1985-87... however, by deduction, you can figure it out yourself...

You need a Power 12V Constant.
A 12V Switched
A Ground
And Signal Cables.

Reply with the wire colors available to you, and I will tell you what is what.

Yellow is usually constant 12V.
Red is Ususally switched 12V.
Black Is Ground.

RCAs are self explanitory.

If your EQ has HI Level outputs, the color scheme is a little more complicated.

I need to connect an Alpine Stereo to a 12v battery in a boat. I know that that is not recommended but we got it used. I am not sure which wires to connect to where. Could you please help me?

Connect the yellow wire directly to the battery (this is constant 12v power, to maintain memory settings). Red wire gets wired to the switched 12v system (so that the stereo turns on and off with the ignition). Blue wire (or blue/white) would be for an antenna or an amplifier (if not used, just seal it off with electrical tape). Orange wire isn't used (that's a dimmer wire for tapping into a car's dash light dimming). Black is ground. The rest of the colored pairs (gray, gray/black, green, green/black, white, white/black, purple, purple/black) are the speaker outputs. The wires with the black stripes are the negative wires in each pair. They usually say on them which color corresponds to which speaker location (front left, rear right, etc). If not, take a look on the Alpine unit - sometimes there's a decal or diagram on there, or a list, which will tell you which wires to connect to which speakers.
