Good Morning Brad,

I understand that you are having trouble with your Electrolux dryer not heating. There are several possibilities that can cause this.

Gas Models Only:

1)The gas supply valve is not open. Check to make sure that the gas valve is open.

2)The dryer does not have enough air supply to support the burner flame. Check with your local gas company to make sure that your dryer is installed correctly.

3)There is a possibility that your LP gas supply tank is empty or there has been a utility interruption of natural gas. Try refilling or replacing the tank.

    Electric and Gas Models:

1)The lint filter could possibly be clogged. Make sure all lint has been removed from the dryer lint filter before starting each cycle.

2)The exhaust duct requirements might not have been met. Make sure the exhaust duct is at least 4 inches in diameter and made of o rigid or semi-rigid metal. Also make sure, that when the duct is in place, it has no more than four 90 degree bends and does not exceed the listed length in the installation instructions.

3)If this is an electric dryer, make sure that it is plugged into a 240 volt circuit. If it is plugged into anything less, this can increase your drying times by 20% or more.

4)Make sure that the outside exhaust hood and the exhaust duct are not clogged or restricted.

5)High humidity can cause longer drying times as well as your dryer to possibly seem like it is not heating. I suggest placing a dehumidifier near the dryer to take any humidity out of the air.

If you have checked all the above solutions, and your dryer still seems to not heat, I recommend giving it a hard reset. You will do this by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your homes circuit breaker for 2-3 minutes. If after resetting your appliance, you are still noticing your dryer not heating up, I suggest contacting your local authorized technician for further assistance. They will be able to diagnose your dryer and determine why it is not heating. Hope this is helpful.

      -Best Regards-

The videos in the link indicated a heating issue but not in the motor. It states temperature sensors or an element failure. Due to the number of things it could be, your best bet is to call a service engineer.

I own a 1Q-Touch Front-Load Electrolux washing machine. The door won't open. What can I do?

Hello Elizabeth P Cochran - Try resetting the unit by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and restart unit. If the door does not open, then it sounds like the washer is possibly experiencing a communication problem with the control board, wiring failure or faulty door lock. Contact a professional to move forward accurately to properly diagnose/repair unit.

Kenmore dryer not heating up

Hi,

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

My new Electrolux IQ 8.0 cuft dryer smells like burning oil or grease when you run it. I just got it yesterday and have run 4 loads. It still stinks. My husband thinks this is normal. Is it?

From http://tedmalone.blogspot.com/2009/06/dryer-problem-solved.html

It turns out that the inlet vent in most dryers is louvered to mix in some outside air with the air being heated by the gas (~ 500 degrees F). In an effort to be more efficient, Electrolux removed these louvers and have not been able to lower the heat enough in their gas dryers to keep from burning clothes. Furthermore, it turns out there is a *new part* which if you're in-the-know you can order. It is the same part, but with the louvers back.

Dryer heats but doesn't dry

Sounds like it is only heating on "low". The problem is most likely a thermal limit switch/thermostat which is bad.
