How do you tighten the parking brake cable

The parking brake cable are no longer adjustable. the e-brake pedal is self adjusting. But there is away to take up the slack. between the brake lever assembly and the body there is a small black lever the pointing straight down, this is also used to give your cable more slack when trying to disconnect or re-attache the cable. Again the is loctaed between the e-brake assembly and the body once you located it push it forward as far as you can and it should take out what ever slack you may have. If your planning to disconnect you well need another person. to get more slack you have to push that lever forward while anothe personis pulling on the cable from under the left front side of the vehicle and then use vise grip with just enoungh pressure to hold not to crush the cable. this well leave you enough slack to remove oo reattach the cable.

How do i take slack off the cable ?

Hi, I do not have this unit however google search gives up : assembly and use manual, hopefully the correct one. If so pay careful attention from pp23 onwards to the threading of the cable(s), and that they had not slipped off and be jammed beside the pulleys. Details of adjustment are given. Good luck. Les.

How to take up slack on mower throttle cable

My first question is why is there slack in the cable? If it's just the outer housing is drooping away from the handle where it runs down to the engine, you can use some plastic wire ties, or electrical tape, or for a short term fix, even twist ties (like for bread sacks).

The outer part of the cable should be clamped down near the throttle control. Loosening the clamp and moving the outer housing back towards the handle will take up looseness in the inner cable.

If it's a new cable, you may need to pull the interior cable out at the engine end and shorten it by cutting with pliers. Most cables have a solid wire in the center. The cable fits into a small hole on the throttle arm. There should be an "L" shape on the end of the wire--if you cut it off, make sure to leave enough room to make another the L-shape in the end of the wire--it's what keeps the cable from sliding around in the hole.

How do you adjust throttle cable on yardman push mower

If there is excess slack in the throttle cable, you can do 1 of 2 things. Either replace the cable, as over time it gets stretched out. Or you can look by the throttle and you should be able to slightly screw out the set screw and take a little slack out and then tighten the screw back up. If there is anything more I can do, let me know. Thanks.
