How to change the 3 digit code of my samsonite ?

Luggage manufacturer Samsonite offers a variety of business, personal, travel products and accessories. Many Samsonite pieces such as attaches and other bags include a three-digit, built-in combination lock. When purchased, the locks are set on a factory default combination that you can change as often as you wish.

STEP 1
Turn the number dials to the previously set combination, or to "0-0-0", the factory default combination for Samsonite luggage.

STEP 2
Locate the reset button, usually placed to the side of the combination dials.

STEP 3
Press the reset button and hold it while rotating the number dials to the desired combination. Set this to a sequence easy for you to remember but hard for others to figure out.

STEP 4
Release the reset button after you set the numbers to the new combination.

STEP 5
Test the combination by turning the dials to the new code to open the lock. If the combination does not open the lock, repeat Steps 1 through 4 and test the lock again. If you still can't open the lock, contact Samsonite Customer Service at 800-765-2247.

How many combinations of 56 cents are there?

Great question.

You could start with the number of quarters, which can be 0, 1, or 2.
If there are 0 quarters, then you only have dimes, nickels, and pennies to worry about. You can have 0 to 5 dimes. There can be 0 to 11 nickels. For pennies, there can be 1, 6, 11, 16, 21, 26, 31, 36, 41, 46, 51 and 56.

Time to work out lots of combinations!

Sounds like a summative project for a data management or statistics course or a great computer programming assignment;)

Good luck,

Paul

Why do computers use the binary number system(0,1)?why don't they use ternary number system(0,1,2) or any other number system instead?

Either something is on or off there is no such thing as kind of on or kind of off. Off represents 0 and on represents 1. By combining offs and ons a number can be generated. Humans typically utilize the decimal system 1-10 while the computing world typically use hexadecimal 0 - as there are 16 variances with four binary numbers combined (lowest being 0000 while largest being 1111).

How many different number combinations are there using the numbers 1 1 0 8

I assume you mean different decimal numbers, using those four digits, right? If so, the answer can be reached two ways.

One way is to actually build up the model by changing one digit at a time, then moving a decimal place. Thus: 1108, 1101, 1100 then 1118, 1111, 1110 then 1188, 1181, 1180 and so on. You will count 81 combinations.

Since those three different digits can be placed in four decimal places, the answer in another way is: 3*3*3*3=81.

How do you unlock a TSA COMBINATION LOCK WITH fogotten. number?

The only way to reset a TSA Combination lock is to turn the numbers until you get it. The good news is that you only have 1000 possible combinations. Start at 0 0 0, then 0 0 1, 0 0 2, etc...

There are posted videos on YouTube that talk about how to reset locks with unknown combinations but they are specific to the brand of the lock; assuming they aren't fake videos anyhow.

I have gotten and hdtv from a friend and when I turn tv on it says I need a pin number to enter. I can not get a hold of them to get pin. Is there anyway I can override this in the settings program?

The Factory code number is 0 0 0 0 If the code has been changed, You can select to reset it using the Setup Code either under the channel blocking or setup code section.
Once there, Press 0 7 1 1
You will be given a message "INCORRECT ACCESS CODE" Press 0 7 1 1 on the remote again
Next, "enter your new access code" shows on screen.
Now you can enter a new 4 digit code. (write it down somewhere)

We threw out the info that came with our new trek combination lock. now we have no idea how to open it or to reset it.

Try this....
My new lock didn't come with any instuctions. I followed the link above and located the "bike locks" heading. I found that the question:

- I have a Kryptonite resettable combination lock and can't find the instructions for resetting it. How can I change the combination?

contained a pdf titled :

- Resettable Combination Cable
(red reset buttons inside)

which is not the cryptoflex 1218 but is compatible anyway.

dont hurt your fingers trying to depress the nodules as the diagram says though. to my chagrin i discovered that they will turn easily if you just push them around into place.

here are the instructions:

To set your own combination
Your new lock is preset to open at 0-0-0-5 at the factory.
1. Open the lock by aligning the opening combination
number to the Guide Points and pull out the Lock
Post. (Figure 1)
2. Push down the two Reset Buttons simultaneously
with thumb and forefinger, and turn counterclockwise
until it comes to a stop. (Figure 2)
3.You are now ready to turn the dials to set your
secret combination, such as a phone number, birthday,
etc.
4. After setting your secret combination, turn the
two Reset Buttons again by Thumb and Forefinger
clockwise until it comes to a stop and back to its
original position.
5. Verify your new combination before using your
lock. Insert the Lock Post all the way into the Locking
Port but do not turn the dials. Pull out the Lock Post.
Your lock is ready to use.
6.The reset operation is now complete. Repeat
steps 1-5 anytime you wish to change your secret
combination.
