It's been off for a long time, and the included batteries expired. I clean the contacts and get new batteries but it doesn't turn on.

What pH levels are good for you?

The way that pH levels work is that a low number is bad, equal to 7 is neutral and more than 7 is good.

My camera doesn't work

First, always suspect that the battery on a camera when the shutter is electronically timed. It includes virtually any modern camera. Even if the battery tests OK. Even if the client tells you this is totally new. Try a new battery.

* Make sure it is in the right direction
* Clean the battery contacts. Even an invisible amount of corrosion can freeze a camera. Rub the battery on a piece of paper and clean the battery compartment by gently rubbing with a pencil eraser.
* Some Digital cameras have a shutter button after replacing the batteries. Olympus SLR is to reposition the ring release button. Some cameras would be the shutter speed ring to move or timer settings, "M" or "X", and then back again.
* All cameras depend on batteries. Older models with a cell meter glass pebbles produce their own electricity.

If the camera light meter through the lens and the lens cap is the correct exposure is extremely long.

Clean the battery cap and contacts with a pencil eraser including the cap threads.
there are no new parts available for this model Pentax, so a good used part repair could be expensive.
An inexpensive hand held light meter might be the way to go if the cleaning did not work, and the camera is otherwise working good.

Sony DSC 500 doesnt start when i want to.

Have you tried cleaning the battery contacts inside the camera? The problem that you describe is frequently due to a corrosion buildup that prevents the full power of the batteries from flowing to the camera. Remove the batteries and wipe the camera contacts firmly with a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment during the cleaning, then wipe both ends of the batteries and reinsert them into the camera. This cleaning clears the problem about 90% of the time, and I hope it works for you.

Put new batteries and it won't come on

There are a number of possible reasons your toy may have stopped working. Sometimes it helps to clean the battery compartment with a dry cotton swab or cloth. Rub the gold contacts inside the battery compartment to release any dust or film. You can also use an eraser to 'erase' and clean the contacts. Once you have cleaned the contacts, please make sure to install new non-rechargeable batteries before turning your unit on.

If the toy still does not work, it may have been dropped or handled improperly

Mamiya RZ67 Camera Older model.

Problem solved- The camera does not operate correctly unless the battery is in good condition, in place, and all the contacts are clean. In the RZ76 as opposed to the old RB models the components "talk" to each other: via electronic circuits. The back "tells" the camera bod if the dark slide ins in or out and whether the film is loaded or at the end of the roll. If the batter voltage is too low or the contacts are no clean and making full contact the body has no way of knowing the condition of the film backs and the interlocking mechanisms fail to work.

What I did was firstly test the battery under load and discovered that the cell was a bit low. It was a fresh battery but it is a good idea to turn the camera off after shooting in case the is a slight current draw when the camera is idle (?) . I replaced the battery and traced the voltages through the body to see if it was getting to some of the contacts such as the onces on the meter prism which has LEDs to be lighted. I also used an ohm meter to check out continuity- everything seemed to be in order. I then cleaned all the contacts including the battery terminals withl alcohol and made sure everything was dry and clean.

Now- everything works. The camera was turned off overnight and the battery has lost no voltage when tested under load..

This camera is equipped with RB lenses which have no electrical contacts and therefore the camera and lenses can't "communicate" so the meter will not work with theses older lenses.
