The thermostat is a simple switch, it unlikely to be the stat but it,a not impossible, if it were arcing it could cause a trip. My guess is it's more likely to be the starter on the compressor or the compressor itself. If you know what you are doing and are qualified you could check the stat for leakage. (You could also eliminate it by bridging it out but I don't like the idea if it's tripping). Have you tried disconnecting the compressor to see if it still trips? HIGH VOLTAGES BEWARE

The "compressor side" probably consists of the compressor and condenser fan. One, or both of those could be grounded out. Try testing continuity to ground with an electric meter on both parts, if your handy with a meter. Remove relay and overload from compressor and check all three compressor pins to ground on unit. Check from each pin to the copper tubing. You should not read any continuity. If you do the compressor is grounded. :(

SOURCE: My Kitchenaid Fridge completely stopped working.

It's the defrost timer. Nothing else can shut off the cooling fan in the rear, the circulating fan in the freezer and the compressor at the same time. Try looking near your temperature control for a small hole that you can fit your small finger into. Grab a screwdriver and try turning the 2 tooth bezel located there. It won't look like a knob or adjuster, but that IS your defrost timer. Rotating it will restart your fridge, but the timer motor is bad so it will have to be replaced. This is just a quick way to confirm the diagnosis.

Yes I turned all switches off but the motor is still running, what should i do i cant afford a technician today

the thermostat operates a relay (usually in the outside unit) .. sounds like your relay has stuck contacts. you can trip the air conditioning circuit breakers to shut it down for now .. you can try tapping the relay with a screwdriver handle to see if you can break loose the contacts .. or better, you can replace the relay .. its also possible that the thermostat has a shorted contact .. disconnect (or unplug) the thermostat and see if the motor stops .. if it doesn't then suspect the outside relay .. if it does then replace the thermostat .. make sure the wiring to the stat is ok ..

Ruud uhqa sill runs when i turn off t stat contactor test good and is not stuckhit breaker and back on and fan stops running goes on when t stat is turned on stays on till i trip breaker again i think it...

Your sentence is hard to understand because there is no punctuation. But, I think you are saying that the Outside unit is still running when the inside unit is off and the Thermostat indicates it should be off. If so, you have a stuck relay outside in the compressor/condenser unit. This is common. The contacts get hot and fuse themselves together. You will have to remove the cover on the unit outside to expose the relay. MAKE SURE THE BREAKER IS OFF. If you house is to code there will be a disconnect box on the wall just above the AC unit outside. PULL THE DISCONNECT> then use a flat head screw driver and slight pry the contacts apart. If they are fused very tight you may need to replace the relay. If they break free put every thing back together and you're done. If you this happens again soon you will need to replace relay.

Which way is the thermostat in a 94 t bidr v6

Usually the t/stat has one end with a point on it. This goes up. If that doesn't work, try no t/stat. That's one way to rule out the t/stat

I think you are wright and also may lead to short cycle and burn the start relay on compressor(it may be too hot to be without air just now)try bigger relay when it is a bit cooler and 24,000btu must220-240 volts be very careful

Cooling fans on radiator will not run. Voltage in plug at block thermostat is 5.4.this therm provides an earth switch. Bypassed the thermo to earth and fan relay engages momentarily only. Relay is ok....

The fan control thermo switch should be either "off" or "on".
Voltage should measure either +12 or 0V, depending on coolant temperature.
Replacing it should fix your problem.

Have you checked to make sure that the elements are good by checking the ohms. Be sure that the power is off and the wires are disconnected from elements and then also be sure to check the ohms across the tank to make sure there is not a dead short in the element reading through the tank. If both elements are good then I suggest replacing both thermos then they will both be new and should work for you . Thermos can be problematic when trying to test them sometimes they won't always give you correct readings. Make sure you have the breaker off whenever you mess with a waterheater, and make sure you install the thermos correctly with the right wires going where they should.

Radiators cold when thermo says otherwise !

First, check to see if the battery in the stat is good. If you can move the manual temp up and down...causing the relay to click on and off, the unit ought to work. If not the battery is bad or the stat is. IF THE UNIT IS ON 110V, you can't do the following:

If this is a two wire connection, simply short them out. If the heat comes on, the stat is bad. If not, the relay package is likely defective. You may want to get help from someone who knows electrical items.

Have you tried removing the RH wire connected to the thermostat and try it ? This might rule out furnace as short in system. If it does the same, put RH- (heat) back on and try removing RC-(cool) , if it doesn't pop the fuse, you may have isolated the problem.?
