Question about Dell Inspiron 6400 Notebook

Hi, I have a Dell Inspiron 6400 Notebook, and I'm having problems with keyboard. When I'm writing something the letters sudenly stop to aper on screen and after few seconds they all appear at once. This happends periodicaly. I'm using windows XP home edition SP3. I also use Linux Debian distribution, this problem does not occur in Linux.

This because the system might be running mutiple processes. Remove the programs from startup. Download ccleaner. Delete temporary files using it. Check whether disk defragmantation is required

If you're using Word it's probably Word just doing an autosave

    You may be right but if it is Word autosaving the above won't help much.

you should have a key on keyboard in lower left corner by windows key that says"FN" then hit "F2" that should do it, if that is not the case then there should be a switch along the edge of machine

How do I lock the keyboard to use the digits that are also letter


the aux. numbers keyboard of the DELL 6400 can only be used in a temporary mode with the <Fn> there is not a way to lock it in an full time on state. remember to axcess them you must first press the <NumLK> key. see below excerpt from manual. I hope this helps.
