SOURCE: I have a zte android and i have a 16gb memory card

Hi!
Try moving your applications from internal storage to memory card first. Also install some cleaners in your phone like CleanMaster which might help you in removing unwanted files, clearing cache, etc.

SOURCE: How do I free free space on my ZTE MAJESTIC ?

This appears to be a problem with your device. I suggest a factory reset. Once complete install good apps like SD Maid and ZD box as they are designed to keep your device clean, free of clutter and so on.

SOURCE: My zte quartz has 5.10 GB of free storage but when I try to download something it says "can't download due to insufficient storage

this will be due to the phone downloading to its internal memory there will hopefully be a setting in the phone to set downloads to the external memory or to move apps and files to the external memory to free up the internal memory.

My ZTE N817 has 223 MB of free space but says insufficient space when I try to install a 7MB app.

Is the memory OK? There are issues with the chip that do this. If you can pop it out and format it on the phone or another unit, that is how I would troubleshoot this one.

Looks like you'd have to 'factory reset' your device: something wrong with the file system' descriptors.

I have a Net10 Android ZTE Merit. I want to

Try going into the setting and under storage to see how many space you have left. Android phone have a lot of ads and residue over time as you browser the web and use other apps. There is an app called clean master that you can download from the play store to clean up your phone Internal memory leaving you more space for other things. I would recommend cleaning the phone once a week. As for the SD card make sure you unmount it first before removing the SD card and replacing it with a new one. You can always use a computer that has an SD slot to back up your file to a local computer or simply use free service like dropbox or pcloud.

Insufficient space on device

You will need to remove some items to make enough space. You can try some of the following to make some additional space:

  • Delete any apps you no longer use.
  • Transfer photos to a computer and the delete them from your phone.
  • Remove any videos you may have already watched.
  • Save any photos you want to keep from messages and then remove the text messages.

That should help free up some space and allow you to install the app.

Hope that helps!

You could check that the backup software settings are pointing to the correct drive. (I've made this mistake before).

Error: "Insufficient free space on startup disk"

Nikon View requires at least twice as much free space on the startup disk as the size of the CF Card being used to transfer images. For example, to transfer images from a 1GB card you will need at least 2GB free space for temporary storage while the images are transfered. The free space must be on the hard disk that the operating system is starting up from, even if the destination for the transfer is on a different drive.
