Question about Computers & Internet

I have a Presario CQ43 that won't wake up when I open the laptop. I have removed the battery and turned it on and off and I even plugged in an external screen. How can I wake it up? Is it the sensor that puts it to sleep when you close it?

Have you tried holding the power button and escape down while powering on till it gets into bios or os options? It may be power plus repeated pressing of f1 to f12 buttons to force the computer to go into os options.

Is it clean? fan and vents? Unplug, remove battery, leave battery out, plug in, reboot. If that fails, Re Boot and try a System restore/recovery to a date before this issue. OR, Boot to Safe Mode, use this procedure to select Normal Boot: http://www.netsquirrel.com/msconfig/msconfig_win7.html When/If you get a Normal Boot, Open Control Panel, Power Options, select High Performance, select Change Plan settings, set plugged in both to Never, set advanced setting to your preference. Use this procedure: http://windows.about.com/od/customizingwindows/ss/set_power_options_all.htm Always shut down and unplug your laptop when not in use, remove battery when you use on AC, your Laptop/components will last longer, and will not be subject to possible power surge damage and the battery, IF it malfunctions will not cause a fire hazard.

When I put the laptop to sleep, it won't turn on when I go to wake it up

Turn off the hibernation feature. The only way to fix this issue is to upgrade the firmware on the motherboard. Simple to do but you run the risk of ruining the motherboard is you do it wrong.

My laptop won't turn on, and the charger doesn't seem to be doing anything. even when plugged in, it won't start. ideas?

You've to replace the ac adapter, if it's brick doesn't get warm or LED does not glow on Power Jack on the laptop. offcourse, check with the wall different sockets

power jack can also be loose. so jiggle the cable to find out.

if notebook is getting power, you can remove the battery, ac adapter, hold and keeep pressing poer button for a minute, then, turn it on.

finally, you can take out hdd and ram, put them back again and turn on the laptop. hope it will help

Compaq HP Presario F572US just turned off.

Remove the battery and plug laptop power into the wall (or power strip).
Turn ON laptop without battery.
It should start.
After Windows has settled, put battery back in and let it charge up.

Hope this helps!
