Question about Canon PIXMA MP600 all-In-One InkJet Printer

2 Answers

I inserted new toner cartrigdes for the blue and pink toners. The light didn't light up once they were clicked in. I returned the toners to the store exchanging them for 2 new toners. These also are not lighting up when clicked in, and the printer says they're not recognized. I didn't touch the metal portion on either the toners or the printer so there was no interference with the current. I turned the printer on and off a couple of times to re-set it and it still doesn't recognize the new toners. What else can I do to get the printer to acknowledge that two new toners are in place? I had no problem when I replaced the black toner. Thanks

First make sure the cartridges are EXACTLY for your printer model. Sometimes the chips dont make contact even though they seem to be in place - FIRMLY place them in CORRECT slots.

Hi, the drum is the part where you insert the new cartridge toner, some times when you replace the toner need to clean the small filament in the drum unit, is very simple, ther is a blue part, slide 2 o 3 times and return to his original position marked with a arrow, maybe this solve your problem,9436fabb-a042-4f75-962b-c59ad843e6bb.jpg

How do you change the cartridge? i am having difficulty removing it.

hi,

you open the front door and pull out the toner cartridge/drum. when you open the door there is a little handle on the left that unrestricts the cartridge from coming out. once its out, you push a button, (there may be 2) on the right side and possibly left, you push them down to separate the toner from the drum

thanks

How do I add toner to machine? Also, is this copier do color copies?

1 Open the front cover and pull out the
drum unit and toner cartridge assembly.

2 Hold down the lock lever on the left and
pull the toner cartridge out of the drum
unit.

3 Unpack the new toner cartridge. Place
the used toner cartridge into the
aluminum bag and discard it according
to local regulations.

4 Gently rock the toner cartridge from side
to side five or six times to distribute the
toner evenly inside the cartridge.

5 Remove the protective cover.

6 Insert the new toner cartridge in the
drum unit until it clicks into place. If you
put it in properly, the lock lever will lift
automatically.

7 Clean the primary corona wire inside the
drum unit by gently sliding the blue tab
from right to left several times. Return
the blue tab to the Home position (▼)
before reinstalling the drum unit and
toner cartridge assembly.

8 Install the drum unit and toner cartridge
assembly in the MFC.
9 Close the front cover.

No toner message

The control panel display will indicate which toner is out;
K = Black
M = Magenta
Y - Yellow
C = Cyan

Also, the orange indicator light will flash.

Generally, each toner will provide about 1,500 copies depending on the intensity of the specific color. The toner drums, on the other hand, generally provide more than 20,000 copies each and need not be changed that often.

When you change a toner, included with the toner is a little alcohol wipe that you use to clean the toner sensor. This is a small LED located along side the toner holder. Make sure ALL toner waste/dust is cleaned off the sensor before installing the new toner.

Also, while I hate to state the obvious, make sure you removed the tape from the new toner before inserting it. Last, make sure you lock the toner in place with the blue lever. And it never hurts to shake the toner a little side to side before inserting it just in case the toner has gathered at one end.

Last, there is a utility included with the printer that lets you access the printer's information via your computer. This will tell you exactly how much toner is left in each cartridge and the life remaining on the drum.

The drum light came on (Brother HL 5240) and I replaced the drum with a new one and it still will not work... Any suggestions?

I continued looking and found where someone else had the same problem. I opened the front cover, held down the go key for 10 seconds and closed the door. This reset something because it works now.

Thanks

Brother 5240 laser printer changed toner still wont work.

This works on several different Brother Printers to get rid of toner/drum empty errors:

1. Open the front cover and leave open while completing the following steps.
2. Turn the printer off.
3. Hold the 'go' button while turning the printer on. All panel lights should be on.
4. Release the 'go' button.
5. Press the 'go' button 2 times.
6. Pause.
7. Press the 'go' button 5 times.
8. The toner light should be off.
9. The paper light should be on or flashing [doesn't happen on all].
10. Close cover. The ready light should be the only light on.
