What are you doing with the extra amp? You can use it as a preamp by connecting a 5 or 5+2 channel amp to the Pre Out section witch RCA cables. If you just want to adjust the EQ of the right & left, put the EQ between the two. If you want to EQ all channels, you'll need 3 equalizers. Isn't 120 watts per channel enough? If you don't have it already, download the owners manual from Denon Support Site.

SOURCE: i just got a denon

Hi,
Use AV cables to connect PS3 in Denon for sound in speakers.
Alternate way is to connect PS3 in TV by HDMI cable and connect Audio Out pins in Denon to get PS3 sound from TV Audio Out jacks.
Hope this will help.

How do I hook up my bose 901s to this unit?

Well the basic connection of the speakers would be the same as another stereo speaker pair. Wire the left and right speakers to the L/R Front Surround speakers on the Denon.

With the 901's I am assuming that there is an external equalizer supplied by Bose. Typically this EQ is installed in a tape loop on the receiver/amp so that it is ahead of the power amplifier that drives the speakers. This EQ needs to be there to attempt to get reasonable frequency response from a speaker that has only 4" drivers. I'm not sure I see any reasonable way to make the EQ work with the Denon AV receiver. You'd likely be better off using the Bose speakers in a dedicated 2-channel stereo and getting a set of speakers for the AV usage.

How do I hook up spaekers to a Denon TU-550 Receiver and get sound results

what you have is a tuner. it is just a receiver, not one with an amp included. you will need a amp to get this to operate. the tuner is one of the best they made. it is a keeper. i would get a quality amp and use it. this is what was refered to in the past as seperates. purchase seperate tuner, amp, and may an eq.

I have a Denon AVR 3805 receiver. It does not have a Main Amp in or a pre Amp out in the back. How do I properly hook up the Bose 901 equalizer to this receiver? I use the 901 speakers as surround...

By properly, you must mean WITH the Active EQ.

According to this picture, you're in luck BUT...

http://www.audioholics.com/reviews/receivers/denon-avr-3805/denon_AVR3805_rear_lg.jpg

(Short answer from personal experience.)

There is no way around this part. Get a separate power amp for the 901's if you want to use them in a multichannel way or alongside non-901 speakers. A good 100-wpc amp will do. (I like Carver)

Connect the Active EQ between the Front pre-outs and the amp input. Run speaker assignment, levels, etc and have fun.

Helpful Hint: If you don't have sufficient between-speaker room for proper reflection off the front wall you CAN turn the 901's around and you won't believe the amount of air these things push! I have actually felt it ten feet away after explosions or crashing ocean wave sounds. Now THAT is multi-media.

Im trying to connect a bsr xr eq to my avr687 denon receiver

If you want the EQ to affect the iPod music only, you can hook up the iPod output to the EQ input, then the EQ output to your receiver's AUX input (or DAT input, or whatever you're using to listen to iPod music.

If you want the option of using EQ for other signals as well, then you hook up the EQ to the TAPE inputs/outputs (TAPE OUT goes to EQ input, and EQ output goes to TAPE IN)

If you hook it up this way, then you have to select MONITOR or TAPE MON to get the equalized signal.

How do you hook up an EQ without having a tape 2 function?

Keep in mind the EQ will only be useful on stereo analog material. Activation of any Tape Loop will disable digital source throughput. Use VCR 1 or 2 audio connectors.

Right channel not working

Hi....you may want to check the speaker fuse, located on the rear of the unit.. sometimes too small wattage speakers get hooked up and the speaker fuse will blow as to not hurt the speakers.
Hope this helps.

Hooking it up!

If the amp has PreIn PreOut connections, then thats the best way to go. Home theatre amps however, have 5 InOuts, and this makes it hard. You can use the tape loop. Hook up the rec out on amp to inputs on EQ, and output of EQ to tape in an amp, then engage the tape monitor function whilst ensuring that the rec selector has the source you wish to use the EQ for.
