Question about Denon Dra-700 Receiver Review, 3 Pgs, 1983, Full Test
The tuner on this Denon Reciever is not working and is only producing static. I have opened the unit up and removed the tuner unit (MB014Ma1-DN). When I unscrewed the tuner unit and started the reciever again the tuner worked fine picking up stations (even without an antenae as I would expect). But as soon as I put the tuner unit back in place (as soon as it touches the back case of the receiver it only produces static again. Any ideas what could be the problem here?

I read something the other day in the user manual about re-setting the microprocessors if the display doesn't display properly. Turn the amp off. Hold down the input mode & analog buttons while turning power on. The whole display should flash on & off at 1 sec intervals, then release the two buttons. This resets the microprocessors & supposedly fixes display problems.

Did you try to reset the unit? Resetting the unit has fixed every problem I have ever had......turn off unit.....hold down A+B at the same time then turn the unit back on...hold buttons for roughly 3 seconds....Let me know if it works.

replace all the electrolytic capacitors in the power supply. i had the
exact same problem with mine and once i replaced the capacitors it
powered up and stayed on and worked perfect.
these capacitors tend to fail as they're of poor quality.
this fault is very common on denon receivers, especially the later models.
hope this helps?
