How do I stop pump from running? Cistern connected pump does not seem to be pressurizing. Pump not cutting off, and getting hot.

Pump probably needs to be serviced. It probably pressurizes a tank and when that tank reaches a pressure the pump is turned off. But just guessing.

Once started the pump will not cut

Be sure you have an accurate pressure gauge on the system. It should start about 20 PSIG and end at about 40 PSIG. Take the cover off and see if the contacts open when it reaches pressure. If not let it go above a few pounds to be sure. If it does not open then just replace the pressure switch. If it does not reach that pressure then you have another problem.

Mac 5200 pumps pressure to 140lbs. then blows off pressure until 120lbs is reached. Cut in is about 115lbs. I have replaced main switch and it still does same. Tried small adjustments on mainswicth st

Check your Safety Valve. It is on the back of the tank sometimes on one of the pressure switch ports or on the air manifold. It has a ring on it to pull to relieve pressure from the tank. The spring in these can get overheated so they don't hold air unless the tank gets over 165 psi. When the motor is running hold the center pin in to see if you have the same results. If the valve holds air until you let it go, replace it.

I adjusted both large and small springs on my pump switch trying to obtain cut out at 60 psig and cut in at 40 psig. Apparently, I have a pressure differential of 30 psig. It cuts in at 30 and cuts out at...

The large spring is for the cut in and cut off pressure, the smaller spring is for the differential in pressure, meaning it adjusts the lbs of pressure between cut in and cut off. Since you have adjusted the smaller spring you have a 30 psi differential instead of 20. To adjust turn the small spring counter clockwise 1 full turn or 360 degrees, then recheck the pressure differential (do not adjust the taller spring while doing this) You may have to repeat this two or three times. Once you have a 20 lb differential, then you can adjust the taller spring to get your cut in, cut out pressure. It works the same way. Clockwise for a higher pressure and counter clockwise for lower pressure. It's something you'll have to play with. It doesn't have to be exact, as long as it's close. Sometimes they are hard to get readjusted.

My jet pump has a 20 - 40 pressure switch but won't give any more than 30 psi. Whats wrong?

There are several causes for this to occur.
1. If it is a 20-40 switch right out of the box it may not be set correctly. I have had this happen. If it builds to 30psi and shuts right off without straining to build to 40psi adjust the Cut-Out pressure up to 40psi. There are two different adjustments on a well switch. One for Cut In / Cut Out psi and one for Cut Out psi.
2. Lack of head pressure being built by the pump can be the cause. This can be attributed to the wrong Jetting in the pump. IE: A shallow well jet/venturi on a deep well.
3. The pump may have a bad impeller, but the pump will generally really strain to build pressure and a bad impeller will be loud, like grinding at times.
4. Double check the pre-set pressure in bladder tank also.

Car start up puts then cuts off as if its not

The fuel pump relay is at fault. Upon starting the engine the fuel pump is feed by the engines oil pressure switch. Once the engines oil pressure is reached to operating pressure the computer shuts off the voltage from the oil pressure switch and turns on the fuel pump relay intill you shut the engine off.
The oil pressure switch has three wires to it. Two are for the oil pressure sinals sent to your dash. The third one is for the fuel pump. It may sound confusing although this system is used by nearly all manufacturers of vehicles

Compressor 25 psi thats it

I assume it keeps pumping, but doesn't build any more pressure. That is probably bad valves or rings. If your unit has a crankcase breather, and it is puffing alot of air, look for rings. Otherwise valves.

Jacuzzi pump won't shut off

The pump will not shut off until it reachs the pressure switch cut out setting. if the pump is converted for deep well with the injector in the well your not likely to get more then 40 psi. If the pressure switch is a 20 to 40 you might have to adjust the cut out pressure to 38 psi if the pump is making the maximum output pressure the line to the pressure switch is likely plugged. if that line is clear the switch is faulty, replace it. if the pump is not getting up to pressure the injector is likely plugged or greatly reduced.
