All you can really do is put heat to it (hair dryer) but be careful that you don't melt the water tube. or you can remove food and leave door open til it melts

Ice maker is not making ice.

Inspect the ice maker mold to see if there are ice cubes present. If there are no cubes or very small cubes, then you should look for issues with the water fill system. Inspect the fill tube and the fill cup area at the back of the ice maker to make sure that they are not frozen. If there is an ice buildup in that area, confirm no foreign objects have disrupted the flow of water into the fill cup. If nothing obvious has caused the ice buildup then suspect the inlet valve, tubing or low water pressure. Inspect the outlet tubing from the fill valve to the ice maker fill tube for any signs of restrictions and replace if necessary.

Icemaker is in the freezer below refrigerator. stopped making ice. can hear it trying to cycle but no ice. HELP

If ice maker is running complete cycle but not filling with water you may have a bad inlet valve which is located on the back of the refrigerator. It will be the plastic part the house water line connects to. Another possibility is that the house line got blocked somehow. 3rd possibility, is if the icemaker is already full of ice and not dispensing the cubes out of the icemaker. This may be caused by the icemaker itself. There is a heater imbedded in the bottom of the icemaker that comes on and releases the cubes when it is time to dump them. That heater could be bad. That's 3 things to check.

The ice maker was an option that was installed where you bought the refrigerator. Most all ice makers work in a similar fashion. The device that tells when the ice tray is full may need an adjustment.

Ice maker not filling up to make ice cubes. some water coming in, but, not enough to make a full tray. water coming in to make cubes is so slow sometimes it will freeze at the tube in freezer. Have...

if you have a filter,it may need changed....take look behind refrigerator and see if its leaking,or if the water line is kinked, otherwise the water supply pressure is too low and the water supply valve may need replaced

I set the ice maker feature to make cubes with my samsung refrigerator rs2555sw. But the ice maker makes a ice chunk. All the cubes are frozen together with a flat and thick layer of ice on top..

Hi and welcome to Fixya.

Remove the front cover after the ice tray has dumped cubes and remove all of the water from your ice maker tray.

Then depress the test button on the bottom of the icemaker (in front on bottom) located about 1 inch from the lower rh corner.

The icemaker fill cycle should add just enough water to cover barely cover the tray. (see page 32 of the 25 Sept 2005 user's manual)

If it is overfilling the icemaker fill time / water level needs to be reduced on the ice maker module. A normal fill cycle is about 7.5 seconds.

Another thing that will cause larger cubes is high water supply (utility co) pressure.

A temporary fix would be to slowly close the refridgerator water supply line's shut off vavle so that the water flow restricts.

The real solution is to investigate ice maker fill time, and the function of the icemaker water supply solenoid vavle for possible Delayed closing of the internal diaphram.

The Ice maker does not make cubes.

The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze blocking the fill tube.. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.

If it overfills and drips, look for an adjustment behind the plastic endcover with a +/- on it. - is less water.

If it continuously drips, replace the water inlet valve on the back where the house water supply comes in.
