I have a 2002 KTM 250 SX 2-stroke and the front sprocket is not turning freely in neutral and I can't shift gears. Any suggestions? Thanks.

possible output shaft bearing damaged , wots the condition of the gear oil ? you mite have to strip the engine and check all bearings etc !! P....

Crank shaft sx 85 2009. Third time that we replaced it in 4 months. This original part has multiple problems; bearings quality etc.

If you have had to replace the crankshaft assembly that many times then I suspect there is a problem with the engine cases themselves. I would have an engine machine shop check the cases where the crank bearings go.

It is a rattling noise coming from the moter.

Could be any of a number of things. Don't run it any more until you can eliminate that it's not a rod bearing. If it locks up, it will be way more expensive to fix. Drain the gear oil and remove the clutch side cover. Inspect the kick start gears, clutch basket bearings for wear, and power valve assembly(if it has a power valve). Also inspect the water pump shaft and bearings.If all these check out, it's probably a rod bearing, and you'll have to rebuild the carank then.Good luck!

Coolant leaking from hole under water pump houseing

Coolant leaking from the "weep" hole indicates that the seals are out on the water pump. That's actually what the hole is for, to monitor the condition of the water pump seals. Pretty simple fix with the factory repair manual. Replace the impeller shaft and bearings along with the seals while your in there. Good luck!

Leaking front sprocket seal

There is nothing else to do but remove the side casing and replace the seal. Hopefully the bearing will not be damaged. Check for play and if you can feel any play, front to back, replace the bearing before the main shaft is shafted!
You may require a manual from for method descriptions.

I have a ktm 250 exc 2001. It had a full engine rebuild in december and i have been using it day to day to go to work with the odd green land fun. last week it started putting oil out from some where up...

The gray color(if it's milky) may be water and may mean that your water pump seals are leaking. Check your radiator level, it should tell you. Be sure to replace both and check the waterpump shaft for corrosion in the seal area. If there is, replace the shaft, too, or the problem will occur again.

If you don't feel that you have water in the oil, it may be that your right crank seal is blown. This will pressurise the clutch and tranny area and likely blow oil some out of any place it can on the right side. If this is the case, the engine will have to be pulled and completely disassembled to replace your crank seals and possibly the main crank bearings.

It's a special made joint and not actually a regular bearing, so you won't be able to find a traditional bearing number. KTM or the mc aftermarket is the only place to get them.

Ktm output shaft oil seal

if you are lucky there is a clip behind the front sprocket remove both then pop the seal out drain gear box oil first though. if not which i think is most probable the engine will need splitting if you are good with spanners it is quite easy being a 2 stroke .in brief remove engine remove bore and carb in one lump remove sprocket gear lever split g-box .seal up push old seal out, from outside in, fit new then reverse prosses. a good manual will help.
