Question about HP PSC 1350 All-In-One Thermal Printer

Installation Problem I have been using Windows XP for several years now. This HP PSC 1350 all-in-one printer was being used with this same computer a couple years ago. When I hooked it back up, nothing was happening. I assumed I needed to uninstall the software/drivers and reinstall them. I did this. Here is the problem: During the installation, when I am asked to plug the printer into the computer via any USB hub and I do so, I cannot move on in the installation. I get a message (after waiting several minutes) stating, "Device setup has failed to complete" with a red 'X' plastered over the image. No, the printer was not plugged into the computer until I was prompted by the install wizard to do so.Yes, the printer was turned on at that time.Yes, I have been to the HP website, and countless other places, trying to find a solution for my problem. Please help me end this headache. I have been working on this for two days! It is quite tiring. Thank you.

    Yes, the printer still works. It was functioning just fine on another computer for the past two years.

    I did try using different USB cables and tried using each USB port.

    All the previous drivers and software were uninstalled before attempting to reinstall anything.



    After much searching on the internet, I seem to have found the problem. Many others have experienced this same issue I am having, and the diagnosis seems to be that these printers are not compatible with the new Internet Explorer 7. It seems that uninstalling IE7 and reinstalling IE6 solves the problem. As I am unwilling to let go of the useful tabs that come with this browser, I have decided to buy a new printer that will -hopefully- be compatible.

    I Rebooted my computer and I do not have the CD to install it. It seems to be installed, but it does not a right printer and I have Enternet Explore 7. What should I Do and I Have USB cord.

There is a piece of software that you can download from the HP website for uninstalling HP software from your computer. You run the software several times (4 or 5 I believe) and each time it removes another piece of the HP suite. Install it on your desktop so you can easily return to it to run it again and again.

Once that is done, try re-installing the HP software. I had the exact same issue on my computer (reconnecting the 1350 printer after a couple of years) and this worked

Does the printer work?
ie can you do a test print via printer keypad??
Is printer "online"

Have you tried different usb cable and port?

Have you unistalled previous driver and the software package before installing complete new downloaded software and driver package from hp to suit

We know how tiring it is dealing with people and their little printers buy a new one or pay someone else to do it for you if it's too hard.

Now you know why they can be too expensive to fix due to time it can take to even diagnose any posible faults.

Cant find hp psc 1350 on list of hp printers


HP "series" numbering can be somewhat confusing, but Windows 7 does have the correct driver for your printer.
For the HP PSC 1350, you will need to use the 1300 series driver.

The 1310 series driver is for models numbered 131x (e.g., 1315, 1318).

Downloaded the software from HP for my PSC 1350 All-in-One, and it ran on my XP machine, got to 100% extracted, then the screen just went to my desktop..... No action..... No install wizard. No indication...


it is very possible that because you have another hp printer active with that computer, and the software from the new hp printer may be conflicting with the software already installed into that computer, and becuase of that, the computer automatically drops the new installation of the software from the new printer, just like it never happened, in almost any case, you will have to uninstall the whole software program from the other printer already installed into that computer, and install the new software into your computer, if that still doesnt work, then your new printers software, the new printer, or both are not compatable with your computer

Cannot connect 1350 printer with windows 7


The printer PSC 1350 is not compatible with Windows 7.

We can directly plug and play it to use the Printing Part.
And in order to scan, only way to do is through Windows Application.

There are different softwares and ways to scan, use as per your choice.

XP 64bit need drivers for HP PSC 1350 all in one


I cannot speak for the author or 3rd partys who may have been involved in the alteration or creation of this beta driver. It says that it's an HP Beta driver for x64, and it seems to be working fine for me on XP x64. My system did not find any virus's or spyware, and it is downloadable from cnet downloads which is usually a pretty reliable source for spyware free and virus free downloads. After much aggravation and a re-visit to past cussing sessions with clenched fists at the infinite money grubbing moronic attitdue of the big companies (like HP and Epson) who want you to buy a new device so they don't write the drivers you need for your existing and perfectly usable device, I came across this beta driver and gave it a chance. So far it seems to allow my PSC 1350 all in one to print flawlessly on XP x64! WHOO HOO!

HP can @#$%$#@! (this being the 5th or 6th go around with no drivers for an HP device that works fine on XP32, Vista 32 & 64, but not XP x64 (XP x64 being the most stable operating system MS has developed to date, I find it hard to understand why it's become the re headed step child). I'll never purchase another HP printer. (I fought this one desperately since it's a brand new printer that was given to me as a gift.)

i cannot re-install my hp 1350 all in one scanner. i have uninstall and re-install the printer driver was unknown. how can that be possible even i dont have the cd that comes with it.
