Hello, My Whirlpool LER5636 takes too long to dry jeans and towels and most clothes (2 full runs at least). I've had the dryer for about 14 years now with no real problems. I see several possible causes....

Make sure both hot wires in your 220 voltage are live. If yes, replace heater core. Clean surfaces of all thermistors. Check fan housing for thermistors also. Make sure fan is solid and secure to axel.

Our Whirlpool Dryer Will not heat at all and not

Your timer may be the cause of both problems. Not cycling and no heat.
Whirlpool makes a excellent dryer and is worth repairing. Replace the timer first. If you still have a heat problem most of the other parts are around $30.

Whirlepool electric drier won't heat

Most dryers have a thermal fuse, which burns out when the dryer overheats, in which case the dryer will either not run at all or stop heating. The fuse is usually located on the vent duct, inside the dryer. A blown fuse will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Before replacing the fuse, make sure the blower wheel is not broken or clogged, and there is nothing blocking the venting.

OK, if the above checks out ok and, the vent is clear of obstructions, you will need to replace the element.

Dryer will not heat and will not turn off at the end of the cycle

I had the same problem with my whirlpool LER5636. It was a power problem. My circuit breaker was fried (one side delivered 120v the other 26v). The dryer itself was fine. Check the breaker, the dryer outlet, and the connections where the dryer cord enters the dryer.
I replaced the breaker and all was well.
Good Luck.
