You might try something like "there would be a three- to four-day delay in delivery".

When breaking across lines? The word itself doesn't have a hyphenated form but when when breaking across lines you do it between syllables, eg activ-ity or ac-tivity.

What is the definition of an suffix and a prefix i would like to know about it please give me information from the dictionary?

Prefixes and suffixes are grammatical and lingual "affixes." Prefixes are affixed before and suffixes after a base word or word stem to add information. For example, with the word "prehistoric," the prefix is "pre-" meaning "before," the base word is "history" meaning "recorded events and knowledge", and the suffix is "-ic" meaning "relating to the science of."
In other words, "prefix" simply refers to an attachment before or in front of, in this case, a shorter word or stem. In lingual terms, a "stem" is the main part of a word to which prefixes and suffixes can be added and may not necessarily be a word itself, such as "dod" in "doddle."
Similarly, "suffix" refers to an attachment after the end of an existing word or stem, serving to form a new word or functioning as an inflectional ending, for example, "s" or "es" to make for plurality.

Divide words into syllables

This is a problem without a quick answer.

The best algorithms for hyphenation use an extensive set of heuristic rules, like matching "-ing" suffixes for verbs, plus a medium sized database of exceptions. The typesetting software TeX respectively LaTeX is known to be especially effective at hyphenating words for a wide range of human languages.

You can find a very well written PhD thesis on the topic by Franklin Mark Liang at It is quite readable even for a layman.

How do you type the spanish n with the hyphen over the n (lower case n, not capital). For example the word nino (which means boy).

Change your keyboard to Spanish;

start>control panel> region and language> keyboards and languages > change keyboards > add > (choose spanish location) then you just need to figure out which key is which :)

My washer is displaying the word Sud, what does this mean?

SUDS means that you have used too much soap creating bubbles and delaying the drain process. the computer allows time to drain. if it takes too much it may delay or stop the washer. on front loaders use a ¼ of a cup of soap if it is powder or ½ cup liquid and make sure it has a HE in the box or bottle. HE means "High Eficiently"
