SOURCE: our kidde battery operated Carbon Monoxide

Relocate it to an area of fresh air - outside will work.. Does it still beep?
If yes, recover the new battery and toss the unit.

Do you have it located in a steamy damp area? Laundry room, bath room etc.. That will cause it to malfunction too..

SOURCE: My Kidde Nighthawk CO2 detector

If the display shows "Err", push and hold the Peak Level button. Does the display change to "E09"? If so, then you have just been "had" by the grossly under-documented "planned obsolescence feature" called, rather matter-of-factly, "End of Life". This means that ~7 years after first being powered up, the unit will, BY DESIGN, cease to function, forcing you to buy a replacement. Would have been nice of Kidde to include THAT warning on the OUTSIDE of the package. Call their "Hotline" at 1-800-880-6788 and tell them what you think of that policy. If it is still under warranty (5 or 7 years depending on date of manufacture) they should replace it. In any event, buy another one; if they replace your first one you will have twice the protection. Not a bad thing. *Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer, despite the handle. Words to live by: "Every creative act results from a sudden cessation of stupidity." -Edwin H. What does it mean when my nighthawk carbon dioxide detector reads 14. It's right above my gas oven which I have on the clean cycle

I don't know what 14 means other than the display claims to show the detected CO level. You will need to read the alarm instructions or visit the Kidde website for further information, it will not be a carbon dioxide detector (CO2) incidentally, but a carbon monoxide detector (CO).

Siting the detector high and directly above your gas oven is not suitable. It could be placed on a table in a sitting area or fitted on a wall or even the ceiling, but again I suggest you defer to the the manufacturer's guidance.

Co2 detector

Check to see if the unit has a replaceable battery. If not, you will likely find instructions on front or back that tell you exactly what the beeping means.

According to Kidde, if any Error Code displays that is not referenced in the Owners Manual, you should contact Kidde for possible repair or replacement. You will need your proof of Purchase. Be patient when you call, there are a a lot of folks having this same problem with this combo detector.

Our gas/co2 detector is going off we don't smell propane which is our gas source. the detector emits the word gas

if you have a furnace it could be detecting the exhaust emission. if none of the above then get it recalibrated or buy a new one if its cheap.

Our kidde battery operated Carbon Monoxide detector is beeping and goes off every 30 seconds. I changed batteries, but it is still beeping. Does that mean there is CO2 or does the unit need to be replaced.

I have a NIGHTHAWK CO2 DETTECTOR, it reads ERR & i dont know what it mean?

Should be a Carbon Monoxide detector (CO). The ERR display means the CO sensor is probably shot. Unlike most smoke detectors, CO monitors have a limited life span. Same thing happened to me and had to get a new one.

Goes off saying gas but no apparent gas smell ?

Co2 detectors do have a life span of about 2 years and keep in mind that carbon monoxide does NOT have a smell, thus the point of the detector.
I would do a test, most of these units have a test feature. Then unplug and remove battery, then plug back in.
