Check air filter, see if fan is running, check condenser coil for dirt build up. If its dirty shut power off and take top off unit so you can spray it with a garden hose. Use an up and down motion to clean the coil. Don't use too much pressure or you will damage the fins. If that doesn't work it may need charged.

My goodman unit is freezing up. It is frozen from the line running out of my house than if u look down into unit, the freeze continues inside

Hello, the suction line will freeze either due to low airflow such as dirty air filter, blower wheel, evaporator coil or a weak blower motor. Also, a low refrigerant charge can cause the suction line to freeze up.

Evaporater freezes up after running for aa short while

When you set the temperature settings down around 64 or lower the unit will freeze up so i recommend to keep it at around 68 or 70 ok this will keep it from freezing also make sure that the unit is free of any obstructions so the air can freely get to the unit ok?

My unit freezes up after being on for few hours. please advise. thanx

make sure your air Filter is clean your Evaporator being Dirty will cause freeze ups also
after changing filter and unit is completely defrosted turn on indoor fan only and check airflow coming out of register if you do not feel much air coming most likely your coil is very dirty if Both Air Filter and Coil are Clean could be Low on charge those are the most common causes of freeze ups

A low freon level in the unit can cause them to freeze up. Are the fins behind the filter clean?

Inside unit freezing

There are varius items that make the unit inside (air handler) freezes up .If the fan motor in the air handler doesn't work it'llice up.If the filter is dirty it'llfreezes up. If the coil in the air handler is dirty it will freezes up.And if the unit is low in refrigerant(freon) it'll ice up.If is low in gas means there's a leak and before recharged it needs to be fixed.

Neither Roof Air Works

Yes and no .. Freezing temps should not affect your A/C at all ... BUT .. there is a freeze control box, its called a control unit to prevent itself from freezing up and burning out, take down the lower cover and you will see it. Your problem is more likely to be more central since neither are working Thermostat or even the control box's in genera, even could be a freon problem if the cold weather was really bad and you could have a leak on your lines, check it out and see what you got!

It keeps freezing over in a short period of time.

I am guessing that this is a window mounted unit??

The main reason for an air conditioner freezing over is that it is not getting enough air flow. You should replace your filter, make sure not to fold over any of the soft metal fins, you may also have build up in these fins and that too will restrict air flow and cause the unit to freeze up.

If this is central air, then the same thing is true, start with the filter, but remember that you need to let the system breath. Do not close off to many vents in your home thinking that you are going to save money, in fact this can cause your power bill to increase because the system has to work harder and hotter.

If the unit continues to freeze up, you should have a certifed A/C tech come out and take your air conditioner apart and clean it. If it's a window unit it might be better to just replace it all together.

Hope this helps your problem,
