Navigate to System Preferences -> Accounts -> Your Account

The option to change your password should be in there.
You will need to enter your current password, as well as the new password you want to set.

I hope this helps.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Macbook Air has a different memory set up. The memory is soldered on to the logic board when the unit is built. As far as I know there are no direct memory upgrades developed yet for the MacBook Air.
About your only option is to replace the logic board with one with 8 GB

Forgot my administrative password

Creating a new Admin on Mac Os X:
Here's how to reset your OS X password without an OS X CD.
the Working solution for me was to create a new admin
you can create new admin like this by deleting a specific file.

You need to enter terminal and create a new admin account:

1. Reboot
2. Hold apple key + s key down after you hear the chime.
(command + s keys on newer Macs)
3. When you get text prompt enter in these terminal commands to create a brand new admin account (hitting return after each line):

mount -uw /
rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
shutdown -h now

4. After rebooting you should have a brand new admin account. When you login as the new admin you can simply delete the old one and your good to go again!

MacBook Help

To create a new folder on the desktop right-click on the mouse and select New Folder from the drop-down menu.
If you do not have a mouse connected, press the control key while clicking the desktop background, and select New Folder from the drop-down menu. The folder should appear near the area of the desktop you clicked with 'untitled folder' highlighted in light blue. You can now type a name for your new folder. Press return/enter when you are done naming your folder.

Safari won't work and now google chrome won't work either. I can access internet on the household pcs but not the macbook. Can't figure out how to read system errors or run a performance check etc. What...

if they both don't work, it's probably a configuration error in your network settings.
go to system preferences, network, and in locations, edit and create a new location. This sets you up from fresh with networking defaults. You may have to set up new airport and passwords to access the wireless, but this should get you up and running..

Don't have password to access computer.

The easiest way is to use the startup disc that came with the computer. Start from it and choose the language. The next screen should have a menu bar. Under (tools or utilitys) you will find a little program called password reset. Change the password, reboot the computer log in as the user with the password you created and make a new account for yourself with administrator privileges. Log into your new account and delete the previous user.
