Everytime I have absolutely no choice, as always the same people claiming to work for BT fault line, are calling from India. I really do feel duped and defrauded with no consistency of reliable phone line, with invasion of my security and safety. And the problem never being solved for all the years I have been resident here. IE, being cut off in the middle of important communication, also many times haveing to talk very loudly to be heard, or not hearing the other person Im talking to, also previously lots of phone interferance in the way of crackling and hisssing sounds etc.and haveing been charged excessively for hardly any service.

a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: I Could not logon to the system

If the 2 beeps were together, then it is a check sum or memory problem. When it boots enter the bios setup(F2) and check the system time and date (located in 'Standard cmos Settings') to see if it is correct, as this is a good indicator of a flat cmos battery (large type watch battery.) If time and date is incorrect replace battery, if ok turn off pc and try re-setting the bios by putting the jumper on the 'JBAT1' terminal on the motherboard on pins 1-2 ont pins 2-3 then back onto 1-2; then boot pc back up and go back into the bios, set the date and time in 'Standard Cmos Settings' and then look on main bios menu for 'LOAD BIOS DEFAULTS' or similair If non of above works, maybe you have upgraded the memory, remove it and try again with original memory stick. Hope this is of some help

SOURCE: interference phone line

Lots of different devices may be interfering with the transmit side of your phone. In today's world of heavy radio frequency usage by consumer devices it is hard to know exactly what may be interfering with your cordless phone. Even some cell phones could be causing the interference. The 6.0 gig phones do not have that problem.

I would check with your phone service provider to check for any fault on the line . I had the same problem with my phone and it was a fault with line . It was alright a couple of days later . The bt engineering team discovered it was a fault underground

Bt com faults

Thank you for sharing that with us.
Try a normal phone plugged into your phone socket just to make sure the problem isn't with your equipment; if it is the line call bt back and ask them to fix it.

Have reported a fault, but was told yesterday that a facility would be provided free by bt to let callers know that there is a fault. this hasn't happened. Why?

FixYa is not affiliated with BT and cannot provide you any information why they have not responded to your fault.

Bt hub 2.0, the internet light is red, but the telephone line works, although it's very noisy/crackly. have changed the micro filters but still cannot connect to the internet.

It sounds like you have a fault on your phone line which is affecting the performance of your broadband.

As long as you haven't added any more phones to your house without a splitter, then I would go with the problem being your phone line.

You might want to give BT Broadband (assuming you have BT broadband with the BT Hub) on 0800 111 4567 they will be able to advise you further, failing that, you may need to log a call with BT about the phone line itself, which is just 151 from the line that you are having problems with. It is always best to phone from the line that you are having problems with, so they can hear that there are problems with the line.

Hope that this information helps! :)

I use AOL as my ISP, with British Telecom supplying my telephone line rental. On Friday 2nd my internet connection kept dropping out, and then eventually stopped connecting altogether. My original router...

If BT tested the phone line is OK but did AOL test the connection to the Netgear router and get the IP address of your Netgear router.
The phone connection is OK but the ADSL connection from the telephone exchange may not be working, that is why you are not getting an ADSL light.

My phone rings once but cut off. Is this a line

If when you plug into the test socket the line still fails then it is an external fault. BT are responsible for all wiring going back to the exchange from the back of the master socket - the repair should be free.

Both phones are flashing base 1 with no ring tone on a bt studio 1500

Had the same problem with my BT Studio 1500 phones both flashing "BASE 1" . Again could not find solution on web! BUT phoned the free BT helpline on 08001456789.
They told me to switch off electricity supply to the base unit then switch it back on.
(The fault is due to the base unit losing the signal and just needs to be "rebooted")

Hey IT WORKS!!!!!

Don't buy a new set of phones!!!!!
