How can I diagnose the power supply unit in this set?
How can I diagnose the power supply unit in this set? I suspect it is the cause of my problem. Error code 23, screen shrank in and out a couple times and turned off a couple times, now wont come back on. clicks on and turns off after 3 secs. Green and blue guns glow orange at bottom. Red gun arcs in the tube and glows inconsistantly red... Would this likely be the PSU or maybe the flyback? Thanks!

Hello hellian82,
The problem is the arcing red tube, it can be replaced or rejuvenated by qualified TV technician. The arcing is the result of a spark gap being formed in the picture tube resulting in a short between the HV anode of the tube and ground. Replacement of the tube is preferred, but the tube can be rejuvenated using a CRT rejuvenator.
