SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

How to get tdc

there are over 6 ways.
to attain TDC #1 firing,
on all engines, you never stated what engine is in your car.!
nor what state engine is in, nor how you lost it. (heads off?)
or?
on all V6 and V8, #1 is the most forward cylinder, look carefully see that? that is true on all cars.
then, if the engine is all buttoned up, (is it?) you cant watch the valve actions, making it impossible to see them.
so... i pretend that is your case, worst case.
there are 2 ways, in THIS case.
the blow test, or the compression test.
1: some put tissue paper in #1 spark hole
then rotate crank pulley by hand until it blows out. this is the compression strock , the begining then keep moving until the
crank pulley zero degree mark aligns with the pointer.
you are at TDC #1 firing now.
2: same deal but use a compression gauge.
when the gauge begins to rise. bingo, its on the beginning of the compression stroke, moving up. stop at zero.
done.

there are vastly more easy ways with valve #1 clover off.

We have a new Frigidaire FASG7074NR2. It stopped at the beginning of the cycle and read door open. The door was not open. We tried opening and firmly closing the door and unplugging but it still reads door...

Good Morning Frances,

I understand that your new Frigidaire dryer, model# FASG7074NR2, stops at the beginning of the cycle and states that the door is open. I also see that opening the door firmly, closing the door firmly, and unplugging your appliance, the display still reads "Door Open", and will not run. I suggest contacting your local authorized technician for further assistance. They will be able to diagnose your dryer and determine why it is stating "Door Open". I hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

This is not a "how to" question but here's a reasonable answer: Your shop will generally charge an hourly rate to determine what the problem is. Generally the first hour is a given, and is not "pro-rated" or divided into parts of an hour. (twenty minutes therefore are billed as one hour) Then, depending upon what is found, the shop will give you a repair cost estimate ( IN MANY STATES, THIS ESTIMATE CANNOT BE EXCEDED BY MORE THAN 15% WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSION) Many shops will apply all or part of diagnostics charges towards repair charge. You must ask about this before any work begins. In many states, upon your request (ask before work begins), shops must return to you any parts which were replaced, and must guarantee their work for at least 60 days (this may vary from state to state). The cost of the entire repair will depend upon the shops posted labor rate and the time it takes to do repair, plus the cost of the parts replaced. Now you know the how and why of repair pricing!!! Good luck!!!
