Question about Mitsubishi VS-60609 60" Rear Projection Television

My tv comes on for about 3 seconds and turn off

I have a vs-60609 mitsubishi projection tv. it shows a picture when it comes on. but at this time i can't turn it off. what do you think this is

Could be a bad Relay.

    Sometimes resoldering power supply board ,around FBT flyback transfomer ,look for any capacitors that are puffed up on top ,if you find any like this replace it. resolder pinns on STKs convergence ICs

Sounds like a Picture in Picture screen popping up, but if you do not have a signal from another tuner, it will be blank.

Try hitting the PIP button on your remote to see if it turns it off and on.
Plus go into the tv menu and find the PIP settings.

Vs 50703 mitsubishi power led comes on solid no picture no sound


Press menu on the remote to check picture. if ok, check signal source(eg. dvd, cable etc). Press input or device and menu button in the front panel at the same time to get error code.

Sounds like bad convergence chip. I think you can get a kit to repair it at www.tvrepairkits.com

You need to be good with a soldering iron if you plan on doing this yourself.

"ant A" and "ant B" inputs go black when the tv is first turned on.


Try opening that "Ant A, B" device and apply some fresh solder to all the components inside. Also you can try to by-pass that device using the connector below. One end connects the cable in and the other end connects to the circuitry inside the TV.
