My monitor no longer recognizes my computer after re-seating my video card and installing new RAM cards. Hello! I removed my old PowerColor Go! Green Radeon HD 5450 to install a new video card, only to realize my current PSU does not have anywhere to insert my new card's power cords into. So I re-installed my 5450. I also removed two 2g RAM cards and replaced it with two 4g RAM cards. Initially the computer would boot, but the monitor no longer detects any signals from the computer. I re-installed my old RAM cards to return the computer to it's original state, but in addition to the monitor issue, my computer gave off one long beep and two short beeps. According to the troubleshooting website for the ASUS M4A78LT-M LE motherboard (, that specific beep code indicates a memory problem (the motherboard's manual that I have has no information on beep codes). After many attempts to re-seat the RAM cards, I have only found the computer to be content with the new RAM cards, although there have been a few attempts to boot the computer where there was a memory beep code. I have seated and re-seated my video card and RAM cards, but the monitor still does not recognize any signal input. I tested my D-Sub monitor connector and monitor with a laptop, and have determined that those are still good. This is the first time I have personally opened the box (I bought it premade ). I have an Asus M4A78LT-M LE motherboard, Power Go! Green Radeon HD 5450 video card, and two 4g G-Skill Ripjaw RAM cards. I do not know what kind of RAM cards my old ones were beyond the fact that they're 2g each. I admit that I have never opened up a computer before. I do touch the metal case to remove any static before I touch the computer parts. When removing the video card, I initially did not recognize that you needed to lift the plastic lever to release the video card for removal, so I did try pulling on it without lifting the lever for quite some time, but I did not yank it nor tried to force it out. I am certain of that. At the beginning, I was attempting to remove and install the cards with the box sideways, but later I did turn the box on it's side to do so. I've made many attempts to remove and install the cards, and I made sure to unplug the power cord all those times... except for maybe one. It was in my latest attempts that I might have uninstalled and installed a card without unplugging the power cord. The computer was not booted, but I remember noticing that the motherboard's LED light was still on. I haven't noticed any changes in the couple attempts I've made on my computer since, but it is still worth noting. There is some dust in the box, but I do not have a bottle of compressed air to remove it. If anyone has any ideas, I would love to know. Thank you very much for your time and your responses!
